Is this a serious question or are you just trying to be cute with an attempt at insulting my draft intellect? Either way, it doesn't matter because I do know who Louis Murphy is and have seen many Florida games over the past two seasons. Quite frankly, I'm not impressed. I can understand Kiper's reasoning for his selection for us. Special teams material, spread offense familiarity, solid upside -- but I think there are better wide receivers than Murphy in this draft; especially at that selection.

yea, don't **** with dream's draft intellect, yo!
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Once again, I'm not sure if your posts are an attempt at humor or if you are serious.

Murphy has nice measurables, but that isn't everything that comes along with a prospect. If you wanted to be holistic and honest about this, you could have mentioned how often Meyer ripped into him in his first two seasons with the Gators because of his attitude and work ethic; and the general concerns from almost every major scouting agency or report (that would be considered legitimate) regarding his football IQ.

He was a player that should have thrived in a spread offensive system, but simply didn't. His production is marginal, even in comparison to widely speculated middle-round prospects. Are you looking for Jabar Gaffney #2 or something? Just curious. Throw in below-average blocking, along with poor route running and there just seems to be a lot left to desire when looking at Murphy.

If I'm going to spend a third round pick on a wide receiver, it'll be on someone who amassed more than 77 catches and 1,300 yards in four years with an SEC team running the spread.

If you're looking for a similar player, Kenny McKinley is someone you ought to take a gander at. Played for a team which sucks at passing the ball, put up some of the best numbers in the SEC and broke many records for the Gamecocks. He's a little shorter than Murphy, but he projects as the same type of player in the pros.

Did I mention that Murphy was a Gators wide receiver as well? I think we have two of them on our roster all-ready. One is widely considered a bust, (Jackson) and I'd have to say that good ol' Jabar never lived up to expectations either. *giggle*

    arent all florida WR busts?
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

lol I knew who Louis Murphy was. I only asked because some people say no to a Wide Receiver in general, even though they don't know the player.

Moss was considered a "better" fit for a 3-4 by some during his draft year, and Doom has the pass rush moves to be effective. they're definitely not sure things, but I like their chances better than Crowders or Indy ST's dude chances of playing on the other side.

maybe Brown is lights-out a better prospect than the other two? if that's the case, great, bring him in. but if he's not a close to guaranteed upgrade on what Moss or Doom could do, it seems we're putting all our putty into one crack in the dam and ignoring the other 4-5 gaping holes.
okay crowder cannot and will not ever be a 3-4 rush LB unless he sheds weight, and darrell reid are you kidding me? that guy wasa DT for INDY 0% chance of him ever being a LB, he'll be a DE in a 3-4

he's a very athletic DT and made his name on kick coverage in indy. there was a lot of talk when we signed him that he may be considered at OLB. nolan likes em big.

i don't see a place for crowder in the new defense... i wish he would have done something, anything, so that he would have some value in SOME way to this team...

if you want reid as a OLB, you need to get checked out

i agree with you though crowder doesnt fit in a 3-4

no not even a 3-4% chance if it was discussed there idiots....... he's 288 lbs

Just for example - James Harrison 242
    Lamarr Woodley 263
    Terrell Suggs 260
    Demarcus Ware 262
    Greg Ellis 262
bunch of OLB in 3-4 not one close to Reids weight

Closest one i found was Shawne Merriman at 272 but that guys just a freak, have you seen derrell ried play? Reid athletic ability is no where close to Merrimans, so at 288, he's definately a DE in a 3-4
