Default I would like us to use are first pick to get the next...

I know that we all want us to get the next John Elway and Terrell Davis on offence; but defence is our biggest consern right now. So what Defensive star from the past would you like us to draft the next one of?

Randy Gradishar - 9 Straight Pro Bowls. He was the heart of the origianl "Orange Crush" defense.

Karl Mecklenburg - Play all of the front 7 possitions the last time we used the 3-4 defense. Can anyone name any play in NFL history that could excell all at 7 the way he did?

Rulon Jones - Karl's "partner in crime."

    Steve Atwater - Owch!

Dennis Smith - Owch! - He and Atwater took the concept of the 1-2 punch to a painful new level.

Other - No "hire guns" please. Come up with someone who is recognized as a Bronco.

In case you did not notice, I defense was horible last year. I would like to talk about that. Maybe I try back in a couple of weeks.

Romonowski was a hired gun who played for about 5 different team. He only played for us for about 4 or 5 seasons.

How about we draft an English teacher?

I kid, I went with Randy because I think that if we have a good core then we can put other pieces in around him.

I love Greg Kragen, one of my favorite players ever. But didn't he weigh like 270 lbs. He would get swallowed in today's NFL.

True! You won't find the loyality in today's players as you have named or as the BRONCOS of yesterday.

To have a player or two or three or all eleven on defense with Romonowski's intensity and aggressive would make this defense one to be feared. Like I tell my kids that I coach on defense, you can have the strength and speed, but if you lack intensity and aggressiveness, then you'll never make a solid defender.

That's true of most players, I think Jones was only about 260...........

I want to see the modern equivalent

karl mecklenburg would be my choice, but unless everette brown's still on the board (unlikely), i'm not sure the value will be there for an OLB/edge rusher at that spot. . . . so, mark me down for "the next clinton portis"-- knowshon moreno. . . . (of course i'd prefer "the next TD," but it's not a good comparison for knowshon). . . . i'd also be happy with tyson jackson-- we'll call him "the next trevor pryce". . . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

I took Atwater, after watching that Superbowl 32 game a couple days ago I realized how much a great safety impacts a game..... Atwater was as big of a reason we won that superbowl vs Green bay... Him Tony Jones and TD were DOMINANT that game.
