Default I need help with my picks

    2009 NFL Draft Selections
    • 12 Everret Brown - OLB
    • 18 Clint Sintim- OLB
    • 48 Ron Brace- NT
    • 79 Rashad Jennings- RB
    • 84
    • 114 Jasper Brinkley- ILB
    • 149 Sammie Lee Hill- NT
    • 185
    • 225 Drew Willy- QB
    • 235

Okay I've got a bunch of questions and would love some help.

I'm still not sure who to put in for the #12 I've got Brown suggestions there would be great, but really I'm hoping to find someone to bookend with Sintim because I love his versatility. I also think that OLB is the weakest part of our team right now which is why both first rounders went there.

Also I think that we should get a late round OG and Safety (I'm leaning more toward a strong safety) so suggestions on who to put in there for those positions would be good. As well as some other positions would be nice I was thinking about getting a kicker late but I'm not sold on that.

I don't think that we need to address WR, TE, or CB in this draft but other than that I'm open to ideas.

I dont like using both 1st on an OLB without knowing what Doom can bring from that position. I do think we need to take one OLB on day one, but if Doom/Moss dont work out, then we can always draft a guy next year.

You could plug WR into your second third round slot since it doesn't look like we are interested in resigning Marshall and who knows how many games he will miss. I think WR will end up being a priority when it's all said and done.

We need a center or gaurd somewhere so you could throw one in for your 6th or 7th rounder. Maybe put a kicker in there too.

I dont think Hill or Brinkley last to where you have them, but I hope they do.

I wouldnt be opposed to trading our #18 pick and Doom to Carolina for Peppers now that we have all of these picks and then taking Maybin or Sintim at 12.

I think we need to address CB somewhere in the draft and rather us get a free safety ebcause of the talent in comparison. I think Sintim has a chance to fall to us at #48...

I realy I would love for us to trade with on of our firsts... To perferably the Pats whom are loaded with selections ebcause of the amount of holes we have/

Somthing tells me Brace gets reached for and does not fall that far. Drew Willey and Sammie Hill are not going that far.

    I see our needs as

    Top Tier

    NT
    DT/DE
    FS
    ILB
    DE/OLB

    Second Tier

    CB
    K
    RB
    C
    WR
    QB

I do not like any of the QB's early what so ever... They are all over hyped, Unless Stafford falls for some reason.

I get what you are saying about Doom/Moss but I think that OLB is the position where some is most likely to fail for us. I also think that Sintim's versatility means that if we do luck out with Doom/Moss then he can be moved inside. So I'm okay doing it this way. If I were to change it I would take a RB at #12.

We are interested in Resigning Marshall just not until after we find out what the commish is going to do, since I don't think he's going to do anything I'm putting WR off till next year. JMO

I agree with you about OG/C I was looking for some good names at those positions. Especially since it looks like we're adding gap blocking to the scheme.

I'm pretty sure that we aren't going to do anything with Peppers and I think that a first and a player is over paying for him.

I just don't see CB as a need with Bell and Williams on the roster. I wouldn't rule out a later round pick but I wasn't going to bother.

I just don't think that Sintim falls Al Groh is apparently lobbying pretty hard for him.

I would be okay trading up some for Brace but I didn't want to project trades.

I do think that NT is a bigger need but Brace at 48 seems to me to be the first place we can adress it without losing a lot on the deal. DE/DT just isn't a big enough need with the guys we have on our roster. It's easier to make that transition and we have more guys who can do it.

FS with Barret as our back up isn't that big a need. SS is a much bigger hole. So I would rank them:

    NT
    OLB
    ILB
    SS
    DE
    FS
    CB

With OG, RB, and QB in there as well.

Okay thanks for the help guys I moved some things around and made a big change at the top. I went with Knowshon because he does all the things that they want a RB to do. I think he'll help out the offense a lot and take pressure off of Orton.

    2009 NFL Draft Selections
    • 12 Knowshon Moreno- RB See above.
    • 18 Clint Sintim- OLB I love that he was in a 3/4 in college and that Al Groh is singing his praises. I think he fills one of our biggest holes and adds versatility if the inevitable hole at linebacker is somewhere else.

    • 48 Ron Brace- NT He's a big run stopping NT I think he'll be here, because I don't believe that most players move as much as everyone says they do in these pre-draft days.

    • 79 Michael Hamlin S A great special teamer to compete at SS/big nickle.

    • 84 Jasper Brinkley- ILB A sleeper to add to the competition at ILB. ONe of them should make it the rest will help special teams.

    • 114 Sammie Lee Hill- NT Brought in to rotate with Brace and add some bust insurance. If I'm Nolan there's just no way I'm only getting one NT candidate in this draft. He should be a solid late round contributor, and more if we get lucky.

    • 149 Zach Potter DE Another big body to be a two gap plugger in the mix/rotation.

    • 185 Greg Isdaner- G We need depth in the middle mostly at guard. He will also give us some flexibility at center. If both Weigmann and Lichtensteiger go down then Hamilton can slide over and he can slide in. I just don't see us drafting a back up center for our back up center right now. Not with Casey, Licht, and Hamilton. Could be wrong and don't know if this is the guy, but he's my thought.

    • 225 Drew Willy- QB I love his starts and completion percentage, and that he learned a lot of systems in college. I think he's a good third stringer/developmental guy.

    • 235 Victor Butler- OLB So I've been convinced that Doom or Moss will make but he can come in as a safety net/special teamer.

Okay let me know what you think again. All help is appreciated.
