If we draft a rd1 RB whose name doesn't rhyme w/ Foshon Joreno or Zesean LcCoy, our FO should all be hung.

I wouldnt mind English at 21, I'd take a reach at Gilbert at 28 as well

Actually Donald Brown is damn good. I would be happy with him.

English would be my forst choice, but I wouldnt be disappointed in Ayers either. However, Andre Smith will still be a top 10 pick. I guarantee it.

I think NFL teams know that as well. The 49ers were hoping he might fall for quite some time but decided not to chance that by signing Marvel Smith recently. So I doubt he's around at 12 for Philly to consider the trade.

By keeping the two #1's they can fill some holes left by the veterans they lost this off-season and fill some gaps. I'm sure they keep both picks at this point

We could sweeten the deal by packaging Dawkins, and Buckhalter.
Thanks MO for the wicked Sig.

no larry english wont be there at 28, he is very versatile and a team like chicago, tampa, detroit would benefit greatly from him, but then you forget teams like Miami, and new england will be all over him as BPA. also dont forget he could go as high as 11 to buffalo.

i understand you may not be on his bandwagon, but many many draftniks and paid scouts and analysts would be suprised if he made it to 28.

but anything is possible. i just think there is 98% chance he goes in the top 25 picks

i dont see the need for that reach in gilbert. Fili moala and evander hood to me are much better, fundementally sound players that would do wonders at 5 technique, both could be had around our pick....

also as it has been stated 5 technique is a huge worry for this team, and I agree. but i wont argue that gilbert isnt a good prospect because he most certainly is.....

I can see English going higher than expected, but Chicago, Tampa and Detroit wont be the teams to take him. He just doesnt fit well in an NFL 4-3

actually many coaches like him with his hands down rushing as well, and he adds and drops weight quite easily becasue of his frame. Chicago and tampa run a tampa 2 where the de's are a bit smaller both teams worked him out already, and detroit also is rumored to have interest now. Miami and new england certainly wouldnt pass on him thats for sure.

he is a outstanding and polished pass rusher with his hands down. his ability to add and drop weight unlike some players....mos cough cough...lol will keep him in the view of many teams rather than just 3-4 teams....

I agree...I just dont see how too many teams are enamored with his hand down technique. He does tend to get stumped at the line quite a bit. I think he'd be okay with his hand down, but has a ton more potential off the edge.

as do i but he does have a incredible rip move from the hands down position...i dont buy the 4.7 speed either he is much faster on tape....

I think English is more quick than fast, but he does have decent closing speed. The bad part about putting him on the end with his hand down is he gets killed on inside moves and has no leverage for a bull rush. By relying on his rip move, he'll get swallowed by better tackles. he also tends to play tall and that's probably the root of his issues
