I'll let King continue on with this ridiculous Falco-esque conspiracy theory that she doesn't write her own songs! Even if we removed all of her co-written songs from her catalogue, her solo credited songs are legit on their own.

"With Taylor, it was about editing."

You know, when I was in school it was considered plagiarism to have someone edit my work for me. She gives away the argument with 'what if we said it like this?'

Congrats, Taylor could come up with a concept (insert the common themes she always sings about) and her co-writers made it happen. Per the same person Abe quoted.

It's very much a rush to validate or justify.

She has wonderful songs. I enjoy her song 'Style'. Not just because it's the greatest philosophy of all listed in the name, but we're literally having a conversation about Taylor Swift being this mega-talent. Does anyone want to remember how she got her start in the industry? Would it be...her dad spending $300,000?

Many of the greatest artists in music history prove you don't have to be a great singer or a great guitarist to make baller ass music

Well let's put Drake back up on the pedestal he deserves!

That's interesting though, the idea of Bayesian inference about overall talent by her facility with singing and guitar playing. I'll run down that rabbit hole a bit.

And that's a ******* great dad right there! No wonder she's lighting the world on fire!

Yes, it's a crazy conspiracy theory comparable to conspiratorial doctors, machines, and illuminati to point out that you can add whatever you want for a credit, her dad bought her start, her lyrics are overly simplistic, and she needed help editing her work so her message was said differently.

Yeah, I'm the crazy one, man! Get the tin foil on your scalp, brother!

So weird, kinda baffling that King is so willing to die on this stupid conspiratorial hill in an attempt to discredit one of the best women music artists in history. Weird!

    I'm not so sure.

I think she's the real deal. Just a gut feel. Like when you play poker and you get a gut feel.

I'll let you know when I'm wrong.

The best career money can buy! Just dump a ton of money in your career, make basic bubblegum pop/country music, be really pretty, and churn out earworms!

FWIW, I rock with the fact she re-recorded her music. Keep your IP on the up-and-up. If Abe was a real fan he'd listen to that and stop giving a guy who Taylor felt like was a predator in the industry money.

Just because you like skinny girls with no tits doesn't mean I'm a conspiracy theorist. But hey, if you can't beat an actual argument, just cling to that.

$300k as seed capital from a dad is not what you are claiming it is. That's the price of an advanced degree. If anything, this particular fact makes me believe even more in her viability within the medium and industry. He was a freaking stockbroker bro.

    He was a hustler.

Not some wrinkled ass old-money schlub.

It's mostly just because I think Abe is overstating his case, and I hate him now. But it's great to meet you, man. The board is a little slow these days, but it's still a solid place. Plus, now that your team has a really good starting QB, you won't be in for the QB drama/threads that often get mean and nasty on here. You came in at a good time.

Actually I'm making that up. I don't know if her dad was self-made.

Except when you go get those degrees, you often take out loans. Here, the reverse is what happened. Moreover, it's also the price some advanced degrees, and this occurred 18 years ago. Yes, he is a stockbroker; so maybe he saw her real talent, or maybe he was a star-eyed dad who got lucky, maybe it's somewhere in the middle, or maybe he just had the money to burn. But I'm sure many artists have parents with that type of money to burn! Not atypical at all.

I'm a ghost, man. Just someone banging out words on a message board to kill time that I never even wanted in the first place.
