I see the Food section is still (waiting on creative name).
In honor of our currently absent friend, how about...
Zambini Junction?
or maybe NOSH PIT.
caviar, serve with bilini, a small thin buckwheat pankace and sour cream.
a fancy preciuos metal spoon on non-metalic spoon is part of the 'presentation"
ceramic, glass or gold or silver.
Normally served in original 'tin' ironic, given the pompous nature of caviar enthusiasts who turn their nose up at the offering of a stainless steel spoon !
many caviar devotes will bring their own utensils !
anyway, the caviar is usually served on a bed of crushed ice, and accompaniements are small 'bread offerings"
rye bread, black bread, etc.
are we talking imported or domestic caviar, BTW?

There isn't much imported anymore. Everything is farmed these days.
I'm growing the domestic from the white sturgeon. I'd love to compare to beluga or sevruga, but it's just not available.
And welcome back.

thats a hell of an offer. white sturgeon, is that a 200-300 pound anumal like its baltic/ black sea counterpart?
beluga, sevruga and OSSETRA, which i consider the best tasting!
flying fish roe is also a popular available caviar, and trout caviar is also growing in popularity.
I think imported caviar has been banned, or at least a moratorium, not unlike cuban cigars.
when I hear "caviar" i think of tom hanks in "BIG".
sorry.
