Default Can Tom Brady Break Peyton Mannings TD Record

Right now he is on pace to do it.
if you extrappalate (big word lol) his numbers he has 56 tds and 5 INT

I dont think he will throw 56 but 51 is entirely possible
also a 72.5 completion percentage is mind boggling.
its like brady is playing Madden or someting

and please spare us the product of the system arguement

Manning for the most part has had better offensive talent and now Brady has the talent and is having a historic season

Look I do not like NE but do appreciate great football and right now Brady and NE are doing it.

i sure hope not. 1. i have peyton in my ff league. 2. i hate the pats.

but it does sure seem like it doesnt it. but 49 is tough to beat. You also gotto think that teams will start to line up for pass and forget the run. Not saying that it will work, but that could slow them down. however they sure have everything they need to shatter that record.

stupid pats, stupid brady. The 1st place guy in my league has brady, and he is their whole team. I face them in two weeks. Lets hope brady doesnt do so well then.

I agree I hope he does not do it but it seems like the Pats got an axe to grind every week and are doing it on the field.

No team seems to be capable of stopping him from doing anything he wants, so barring any injuries, yeah he should break Manning's record, unless Belichick benches him a lot during garbage time, or even rests him before the playoffs.

For those who go against him in FF leagues, just hope NE gets up to a great lead through running TDs so that Belichick can pull Brady from the game to minimize the risk of injury.

I see no reason why he wont break that record. I mean he allready has 21 after 6 games.

The person I played in FF this week had Brady (43 pts.) and I won by a single point. He had the SEA kicker and I am glad he didn't kick a FG near the end of the game.

I had worse luck; I played Adrian Peterson and got a TON of points from him, but I let go of my original QB backup, Delhomme, because of injury, so I scrambled for a QB and got Ferotte .... who gave me negative 14 points. Ack, I lost by about 8 or 9 points. Better if I just played Peyton, even if he was on bye.

I think Brady has 21 TD's through his first six games whereas Manning had 17 so he's certainly on pace to break it. However, I don't think he'll be able to keep up this pace with games against Washington, Indy, Baltimore, Eagles and the Giants coming up. Belichick might very well rest brady the last game of the season so the record might come down to the wire.

I totally agree. Belichick is gonna stick it to every team who had a coach or player make a disparaging comment after Spygate. He did it to Tomlinson and the Chargers and to Wade Phillips and the Cowboys. Dungy is next!

6 more and counting.... 27 after 7 games is unbelievable.

    Good for him WTE

I hope he throws 6 at Indy in a few weeks. Manning certainly has shred Denver enough, it would be nice to see it happen to him at his own house.

Next week will be an off week when they beat Was 34-14 and Brady only throws 3.

I think he will get the record and throw at least 53 Tds.
I've been saying he was the best QB for a while now. Now that he finally has his weapons he is showing the league just how good he is. He already has won 3 superbowls, 2 Superbowl MVPs. He will win league MVP this year. He will have the TD record and maybe the Yardage record. So this could be the single best season a QB has ever had. Manning has all his weapons and cant even do what Brady does. Brady will probably win his 4th ring this year. Pretty crazy.

BUT the reason I would be happy if he didn't break the record is because I was at the RCA Dome a few years ago vs the Chargers when Manning broke the record and It be cool to see that replay all the time and know that Stokely caught #49 right in my endzone.

But I love seeing records broke and I think Brady will do it.
If only I had him on my fantasy team.

I think you're right, if Brady continues at this pace, he should win the league MVP easy.

It's too bad the Giants don't play them sooner; the giants have the defense to pressure the quarterback, and they have so many talented sack monsters. One key to Brady playing at this high level is the consistently great protection he has.

records are ment to be broke....
and the pace he is on if he does not think about it...he will do it easy...
as long as he plays as a team and not a solo he's in good shape..

I remember asking myself about mid way through the 98' season if TD could rush for 2,000 yds. I think at that point everyone knew he was capable of it he just had to stay healthy. Now that i look back . . .healthy across the O-line too. The same O-lineman that started the season, finished it.

I think the same apply's to Brady in this question. His health of course but also the health of Moss, Welker, and Stalleworth. Brady is Brady and he has always been an excellent passer IMO. Now he has weapons and weapons that can hurt you after the catch. New England's passing success is coming from them using ALOT of 3 WR sets. If 1 of those guys go down, it will have a pretty big effect on Brady breaking that TD record.

Manning had at that time , a very nice 3WR set in Harrison, Wayne and Stokley.

He can, but I'd prefer that he didn't.
