Default A little more ipod help.

I have all these songs that i put into my itunes account, then i downloaded some more songs and ripped some cds, and added that to my itunes music also.

The problem is, when i added the new songs, it added all the old songs + the new songs and now i have double the songs.

Is there anyway to get the duplicate songs deleted from my ipod, without having to go in by hand and find all the dupes and delete them..

I have like 700 songs. That would take forever to do.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

There's an option to view duplicates. Depending on your version of iTunes, I believe it's in the menu bar, view, list duplicates. I'll have to check for sure, but there is a way to list dups. Makes it a lot easier to remove them.

In my version, it's actually under "file", not view.

You'll still have to delete each song individually, but at least you can see all the duplicates.

    Oh $*%&!!!

I messed up big time now. Figures. So this is what i just did. I found the "show duplicates" part. Then i accidentally went to "sync songs" instead of "show duplicates".. They are right on top of each other.

Now i have 1171 songs that i think are duplicates. There is so many of them.

    eff me in the butt.

Any advice for my dumbss now???

I want to buy an ipod, but Mr Gnome doesn't think $150 is worth it. Please send all your pro-ipod stances here.

They might only be duplicated on your iPod. Check your iTunes software, goto File, Show (List?) Duplicates. It should give you a number of songs listed. It will be a pain in the butt, but unless someone else has a suggestion, you'll have to delete each dup individually.

YOU WOULd also think that since you can check or uncheck the songs that you could just check all the dupes and delete them. Poor planning on ipods part...

Gnome- they are worth it- just get one and you wont regret it. I promise.

I was stubborn about buying an ipod for years! I tried just about every windows based mp3 player out there - they were all frustrating! Once I finally gave in and got and ipod - it made my life so much easier.

I think the dups are in iTunes, as well as the iPod.

    Yes they are.

The good news is now i am down to 900 exactly that are dups in Itunes. My fingers hurt. I am deleting as many songs as i can in between me checking the files that people are putting on my desk. I am making progress.

Almost 300 are gone. Only 450 to go.

here is a question though, once i get rid of all the dups. Do i then re sync my ipod with the new music or do what thnikka said and delete everything from my ipod and then sync?

Once you have the dupes removed in iTunes (worst program ever (not really but I hate it)) you should be able to format the iPod and resync. Probably the fastest way to do it.
