Well, it all depends on if there's a tight end or not.
6 would be inside shoulder of the TE (or inside eye)
7 would be head up the TE
8 would be outside eye of the TE
9 would be a LB who played in a space outside of the end man on the line in a twins look (doesn't matter if its a TE or not). The LB would walk out and split the inside receiver and the end man on the line.
Its fine. I didn't know you intentionally listed the only one's that include the defensive line. BUT the 6-7-8 techs can double as a defensive line player as well as a linebacker. That is where the term "hybrid" players comes from. A player that is enable to play both linebacker and end in the 3-4 scheme.
In college football when kicking a field goal, and the center snaps the ball to the place kick holder, shouldn't the play be called dead because the holder's knee is on the ground?
