I would be the last person that would like to see the P&R forum go away. I've enjoyed my time here a lot more since I don't have to even see the thread titles. Again I think most of us are just asking for all things P&R to be kept there period.

At a certain time when it can;t be left int eh P&R section and it becomes so derisive and leaks into grudges in other areas what do you think needs to happen?

There have been many discussion about this from day one of opening this place up..

that would be a absolute last draconian action to be taken but if it causes as much trouble as it does there may not be any option..

Right now P&R account for well over 50% of the reported posts and mod actions we deal with..

We feel it can be a good place to express ideas but it can't continue the way it is..

Right now the only thing that is openly being discussed is the avy and Sig thing..

That's the point, Nomad... many of us don't opt-in to the politics and religion forums. And we wouldn't care what sigs/avys posters in those forums have if they only posted in those forums. But they don't... and if they choose a political or religious sig or avy, then politics and religion are no longer kept to the opt-in forums; they've leaked out into the mainstream board where everyone has to a) be exposed to politics/religion content, b) turn off all avys and sigs, or c) place the poster on ignore. I dunno about you, but my religious beliefs/political choices are not/never have been/never will be influenced by seeing someone else's yard signs or signature/avatar graphics.

I realize this discussion was started in regards to avys and sigs; however, if over 50% of the reported posts are coming from P&R, is it fair to assume that most of the reported posts are not in regards to avys/sigs, but rather post content?

I guess I am niave because I don't hold grudges or see what happens in other forums due to the grudges! I usually say my piece and move on!

My advice to the mods is weed out the forum from the offenders.

The only yard signs I like are Beware of the Dog signs. Sorry couldn't resist.

I guess what you say about the matter doesn't bother me but if it makes the board happy to get rid of sigs, then so be it! I got off a little because people giving 'opinions' about politics opt-in to the forums! Oh well, interesting what a message board brings!

I would say suspend there P&R privileges if they carry it out side those forums but I think that would just make it worse for the rest of us while they couldn't post there. If it's that big of an issue in there maybe the hammer needs to swing quicker than normal until they get the message.

A simple Code of Conduct proposal:
    • No inflammatory, religious, racist, or political discussions, and no porn
    • No thread terrorism (hijacking of threads, spamming people).
    • Inter-forum fighting will not be tolerated. This is our home, don't bring someone else's crap into it.
    • No nude or semi-nude sigs or images, please link all potentially not work or family safe material and mark it as DO NOT CLICK FROM WORK in your message.
    • Respect the people in this forum and in other forums - Broncos Forums is about being fun and honest, and having respect for others.

At the moment, nobody is discussing removing the Politics forum. I won't lie, it could happen some day, as so many other forums eventually shut down and forbid P&R talk, because the members allow their different opinions to cascade into other forums. However, at the moment the only thing being discussed is not allowing political sigs and avvies. The reason two or three people are SO opposed to this is because they are the ones that put up sigs intended to inflame and piss off anyone that holds a different view then their own.

That's all it is about. Keep P&R in P&R and not pollute the rest of the forum with the zealotry that exists inside those two forums.

Would you mind reposting this in the Rules thread. Thanks.

We used to have one of those... it was even more effective once it got tattered (after weathering/age caused bits and pieces of it to fall apart).

that's my impression as well-- and as far as i'm concerned, you should just go ahead and enact the rule. . . let them deal with it, they'll live! inability to use a political sig is NOT going to ruin anyone's enjoyment of these forums, and if it is they probably need to be someplace else anyways. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”
