Also, if all those guys were off the board, don't we take Moreno?
Moreno or Beanie Wells would both be options if those other guys were all off of the board at 12.

Between the two, Jenkins without hesitation, but I would actually pass on both and take Brian Cushing, who I think will be a great fit as a 3-4 OLB and have more success than Rey Rey.

    It took me there too.

    Definitely Jenkins.

Rebuilding this defense from back to front is'nt a bad thing. Shoring up your secondary can have a huge effect on your front 7. Especially in a 3-4.

If that's the worst case scenario... hell, I'd trade back 5 or so picks, pick up a late first rounder, and double up.

smiley, in your scenario i would be interested in maybin, jenkins, knowshon, and possibly cushing or tyson jackson. . . one other name to throw out there-- larry english. . . yea, i know his stock hasn't risen to that range yet, so people will call that a mjor reach, but he's got late riser written all over him IMO. . . he really helped himself with a good senior bowl week, and could boost his stock further with a good combine. . . and before anyone kills me, tell me this-- was demarcus ware even pojected as a first rounder in february of '05? i'm obviously not trying to suggest that english in in his class, because if people thought he was he'd be a top three lock already-- just suggesting that it's not impossible for a small school pass rusher to come from relative obscurity and rocket up the charts in the weeks before the draft. . .

in any case, i wouldn't even look at an offensive player other than a RB. . . i'd rather try to trade down and take lesean mccoy than draft maclin if there really just isn't a defender on the board we want at #12. . .

cleveland DESPERATELY needs some pass rush help-- if brown is there, no way he gets past them IMO, unless crabtree happens to still be on the board. . . .
I don't think English would be out of the question if the scouts liked what they saw on tape and he shows well at the combine to spark interest even further. Ware is a good campaision because there were the same questions with him, can he compeat, can he stand up?

Now 12, IDK, but in this fictional case say x amount of palyers were gone and the Broncos wanted a pass rusher, coming out of NIU should not scare you away. DRC did the same thing last year coming out os TSU and shooting up to #16 overall.

At some point in the next year or two, we are going to want another stud corner. I'd be tempted to take Jenkins anyway.

I'm still curious why Rey is still discussed so much, if most are content with DJ and Larsen in the middle. Orakpo is overrated, Brown is slightly better and Raji will be gone.

I wouldnt hesitate to nab Jenkins in this scenario

Well I think if Jenkins makes it out of the top 10 he now could be a serious possibility.

Though I would take Raji over Orakpo I don't agree with Brown being better or Orakpo being overrated. He is big, pysical, strong, and fast. Almost a complete package. Orakpo will do everything Brown can then some.

Orakpo is a loser. The die has been cast. He is a bust.

Why? I would like to know what leads you to believe that.

Orakpo has maybe one pass-rushing move. He also sucks horribly against the run.

I wouldnt go so far as to say Brown is ALOT better, but he does have a little bit better skill set. Personally, I really dont see what makes Orakpo a top 10 pick.

Brown was to inconsistent. He would show up in in some games raking in 3 sacks but disappear in others. Also Orakpo played against better competition and played better against top competition then Brown. Orakpo also missed 3 games due to a sprain. Orakpo was also more consistent with getting pressure, sacks, and tackles throughout the season rather then racking up sacks in just a few games. He was also named the NATIONS top defensive play, top linemen, and top DE. If he is there at 12 and Raji is gone there is no doubt I would take him assuming we stay there.
