Rey Rey is probably a two down linebacker. **** that.
I guess if that depends on who is out there. I do not think LB are that hard to find and yes he might be a Ray Lewis type, but without a good to great NT he will be eaten up by OG' or OT the are pulling negating his greatness...
I guess I'd rather have a true position of need there, NT or DE or maybe even a OLB (3-4) if there is not one. Then frankly I'd take the next best one on the chart as we have them ranked.. granted of course we can't move back to perhaps pick up another day one pick.. Which IMHO is not going to happen..
When the day comes we are as deep in quality players as say PIT or NE are then we have the luxury of picking BAP regardless of position.. but until then I think we need to take the BAP at a desperate position of need. Regardless of where they are supposed to go..
A MLB is not going to play NT as well as a Good to great one will..
McShay also has the second round up - Denver picking Michael Johnson (DE/OLD) for Georgia Tech. Freaking horrible player
It really is shitty mock. He has 3/4 Line Backer (Simtin) going to Tampa -2 Cover team (Detroit), Larry English going to ATL and Jackson (LSU) going to Tampa Bay, not Bates' type of DE.
"We saw it…. the hussars let loose their horses. God, what power! They ran through the smoke and the sound was like that of a thousand blacksmiths beating with a thousand hammers
They rush on to the Swedes! They crash into the Swedish riters…. Overwhelm them! They crash into the second regiment - Overwhelmed! Resistance collapses, dissolves, they move forward as easily as if they were parading on a grand boulevard
BFC.........D Will #27.............D Nash #29..............K Mc #11

The Whiskeyteers ~ One for all, and all for more
I think Seattle would take Crabtree if he's available, but I see him going #3 to the Chiefs. But I don't think Seattle will take Raji. If Crabtree is unavailable, I think they take Chris Wells. I think Raji will fall to us. Green Bay has a NT already on their roster with Ryan Pickett, and so does San Fran with Isaac Sopoaga.
Regarding Maualuga, I think a lot has to do w/ so much time elapsing between the season and the draft. Basically, I think people have to justify charging folks for subscriptions so they change their rankings almost weekly.
Maualuga and the USC LB'ers also had a bad day of practice on day 1 at the Senior Bowl. They came on the next day and had a good week, but Maualuga showed up and made a big play or two on game day like he usually does in big games.
IMO there is no point taking ANY ILB with our first two picks. We have Larseon and DJ already. we miight as well draft a position that we currentlt don't have first. Too many holes to fill, we already have 2-3 ilb's.
No offense but if the choice were that simple than everyone could get mock drafts right.
It's more like Pickett and Brown or Raji and Poppinga for the Packers. Or Raji and Hill and Sopoaga and Sanchez. Of course even that is a gross oversimplification, but it gets the point across.
I don't know about Raji going at #4...especially to Seattle. I just don't see how Seattle, after a couple years now lacking WR talent, could pass on arguably the best player in the draft and the best WR to come out in a long time.
