none please
I'd go with Paymah just for veteran depth and experience, and the fact that he's a corner who would be more adept to play in a 3-4 with is press-man skills. I think he could be utilized well here and wouldn't be bad as a fourth or fifth guy. He has experience, can play special teams and would be cheap. That is my argument for him.
Outside him, I could see Darrell Jackson being re-signed. He is not a bad sub-package option and it is always good to have veteran leadership on the team. He isn't the receiver he used to be, but I think with McDaniels and his offense -- there could be some creative things done. I'd like to see another rookie wideout or someone added, but why not keep Jackson?
Kenny Peterson, maybe. Maybe he could play end in a 3-4. I don't know.
Those would be the only three I'd have any interest in; but I'm almost in agreement with SA that "none" might be the best option; however -- I think these three are deserving in some capacity, for the reasons I mentioned.
i won't cry if they bring back peterson or ekuban, but i really don't need any of 'em. . . given just how bad our efense was, the more stiffs we don't have back i'm thinking the better i'll like it. . .
- John Elway“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”
Paymah will fit the scheme. Re-sign
EE Re-sign sad to say but he is a vet and needs to stay regaurdless
Peterson Re-sign We're gonna need five DE's i see it like this Peterson, Thomas, EE, FA, Rookie,
NT gonna need two or three..
10 ILB and OLB
Darrell Jackson offers some nice depth. he made a few big plays for us in his limited playing time and he's a pretty nice compliment to have if anything were to happen to Marshall, Royal or Stokes
Being on the East Coast, I don't catch too many Bronco games except for the prime time ones...I'm not saying this to kiss a** or anything but I one of those fans where I hate every other team in the NFL other than the Eagles. I don't have a second favorite team or anything like..normally when I root for another team I only do it if them winning benefits my team or if just can't stand the other team...I root for you guys against the Chargers every time..Phillip Rivers is a pr*ck.
Moving on...
*So I don't know too much about the personnel on your roster BUT I would assume that McDaniel's offense is atleast somewhat similar to Mangini's...Ramsey is familiar with Mangini's system from the time he spent with the Jets and if is indeed at all similar to McDaniel's than Ramsey might not only be a good back-up quarterback on the depth chart but a good guy to have around Cutler while he makes the transition.
*Ebenezer Ekuban might not be cut out for a 3-4 defense and might have been the reason that Parcells moved him out of Dallas when he took that ship over back in 2004.
*Peterson might workout as a defensive end in a 3-4...he has the body for it atleast.
* I would keep all the defensive backs that you could. The trick is to go into the draft without any blaring holes...you really don't want any needs and force a pick there...you wanna be able to go in there with everything wide open...you let these defensive backs go and all of sudden you have backfield depth you need to satisfy...it doesn't have to be these guys per say but some depth guys should be acquired in free agency before the draft...
