im not sure why we didnt try and include foxy and a 3rd for him. he would have helped solve some issues on d.

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do it about it now.

Every team makes personnel mistakes. I was reminded of that tonight, watching Willie Parker and James Harrison play in the Super Bowl. Every team in the league passed them both up 7 times or so in the draft. Now, if only we could figure out where we left that darn crystal ball............

sure there is-- we can bitch about it!

“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Remembe he was being a bit of an a hole and taking plays off. The character concerns weren't there that much in 08, but who is to say they won't resurface?

Personally, I'm glad we don't have either.

Watching Parker go into the line was like watching Tater. No power. I recall
Bettis and what he did for the Steelers. I certainly hope the new staff sees in
Hillis what some of us do. Maybe this will raise some eyebrows, but I would
    rather have Hillis than Parker.

Harrison has proven himself a good player, no doubt. But he would make
Romanowski look like a choir boy, dirty as Harrison is. I want no part of him.
Free agent for free agent, I'm glad we have Woodyard.

I think Sean Jones would look good in Orange and Blue.

I wouldn't complain. Jones is intruiging. He has improved his play every year, and brings the size that teams covet at safety. He might be a diamond in the rough, and worth a shot at.

Harrison has his moments but come on the DPOY and you would still take Woody?

I like Jones as well, from what I understand he is more of a cover saftey so could be interesting if the Broncos look at Wesley at S, Barret/Jones combo would bring lots of speed to the back end.

i have to take issue with this. . . are you basing your comments on harrison solely on that personal foul he took during last night's game, or do you have other evidence upon which to base that opinion? because romanowski was one of the dirtiest scumbags to ever play the game-- rae carruth and OJ are about the only players i know of that make him look like a choir boy! this is james harrison, not rodney harrison, and i myself have never heard anything disparaging said about his character-- doesn't mean it hasn't happened of course, but i follow the NFL pretty closely. . .

pushing the guy after the play was classless, and he deserved the penalty, but football is a violent, aggressive sport-- it's not ballet. . . . frankly, IMO we could really USE some guys on defense that play with a little attitude-- i don't want cheap shot artists, but i do want guys that play nasty, hardnosed physical football. . . of course you don't want stupid after-the-whistle penalties all the time, but that stuff does happen in this game-- i'd absolutely and gladly trade a few of those for our soft as tissue, no fire in the belly, no pride buncha stiffs on defense any day of the week and twice on sunday. . . that steeler defense is championship caliber. . .

as for saying you'd take woodyard over the defensive MVP just because he pushed a guy after the play was over-- well, i think you're nuts. . . no offense. . . .

I with you AV06. I would take Harrison in heart beat especially if we're going to switch to a 3-4 defense. Harrison is terrific rush linebacker.

and can you believe all the talk over on the Jets message boards is BJ Raji to them at #17 to back-up Jenkins?!

    Completely ridiculous.

    fer real? damn, that's kinda stupid. . . .

for real...I guess I'm stupid for trying to talk them out of it...

anyway...we run a 4-3 and I would LOVE to take Harrison...I would find a place for him...maybe at SAM or something, I dunno...I really like the guy...

as for that unnecessary roughness penalty..I don't think it was after the whistle..I think it was on punt coverage or something...it was a pancake...a really aggressive pancake...I didn't think a flag should have been thrown but that's just me...just because a player gets completely physically dominated by another player to the point where it looks they're bullying him doesn't meant they should throw a flag.
