    Default Senior Bowl- Highlights/Disappointments

    Disappointments:

    Graham Harrell- QB (Texas Tech)

Considering what this guy was able to do during his time at Texas Tech i expected a lot more from him in this game. The Fact that he played just a tad bit better than Cullen Harper for the South is embarrasing.

    James Davis- RB (Clemson)

Although Davis finished the night second only to Rashard Jennings (Good call Coach, i know you liked this guy in your mock draft) he really didnt seem like the same guy i watched in the regular season and seemed sluggish and slow tonight.

    Q. Crosby- WR (Texas)

I was never enamored with this guy to begin with but his poor showing tonight only solidified how overrated he seems to be to me.

    Highlights:

    Cedric Peerman- RB (Virginia)

Probably one of the lone highlights of the North tonight Peerman led all rushers with 5 rushes for 34 yds with a 6.8 yd average. Probably still not sexy enough to overtake the more noteable RB's in this year's draft but still remains a late round sleeper pick that i would love for Denver to take a chance on. Good quality character and a great ethic.

    Juaquin Iglesias- WR (Oklahoma)

This guy definitely showed up tonight and has proven his worth. Probably one of the best prospects at WR in this years draft.

    Derrick Williams- WR (Penn St.)

Not sure how he will do as a go to receiver but on Special Teams he shows he has some real value. Got some nice speed and an eye for making plays when given the chance.

    Rashard Jennings- RB (Liberty)

Didnt know anything about this kid until i saw Coach put him in his Mock. I kind of shook my head at the thought but seeing what he did tonight will force me to take a deeper look into what this kid is all about. Definitely a very nice surpise.

    Pat White- QB (West Virginia)

Although i think White would be better suited as a WR/Slash type player if given enough time in the pocket he could very well be a reliable QB. However, i do worry about his size and ability to take punishment for the long haul. But still managed to show up and prove he can play with the big boys.

    Andre Brown- RB (N.C.State)

Great player, and the more and more i see of him the more i like. Ive continued to have him taken in the late rounds in my mock drafts but if the kid continues to do well he may end up rising very fast on the draft chart. He finished the night with 10 carries for 26 yds and a TD. Also had 2 receptions for 39 yds which proves he can be a factor in the receiving game as well. Watch out for this kid.

    Mike Wallace- WR (Ole Miss)

Probably THE highlight for Ole Miss this year and will get a lot of attention after this game tonight.

Ill get to some of the others players from the defense later on tonight.

I wasn't really surprised by Harrell. The offense they run at TTU doesn't require him to throw the deep out patterns.

they have so much speed and quickness up there it is scary but it did him no favors for the pros..

Yea, seems to be a pattern there at TT. I remember a few years ago Klingsbury had a great career there but he never transitioned well to the Pro's. Unfortuante as it seemed he had a nice arm but your right. The Red Raiders have a habit of using a system that seems to work well there in College but in the Pro's it doesnt do much for helping them beyond that.

The lack of running deep outs doesn't have anything to do with TTU's speed and quickness it's just can't that Harrall can't make the throw.

    Defensively.

    Disappointments:

    Zack Follet- LB (California)

Not the best showing for this guy as he screwed the pooch on a couple of tackles that i saw late in the game.

    B.J Raji- DT (Boston College)
    Ron Brace- DT (Boston College)

Threw both these guys together because both have gotten a lot of hype but seemed to look unimpressive tonight. I would hope that if Denver considers either one that they are sure one of these guys will be the answer. Lets hope if that is the case that tonight was a fluke and that neither had much motivation.

    Highlights:

    Peria Jerry- DT (Ole Miss)

Big night for Jerry who finished with a sack, a batted pass, and a fumble recovery for a TD. Certainly seemed to outshine B.J Raji and Ron Brace.

    Alphonso Smith- CB (Wake Forest)

Not much from him tonight but almost (and should of had) a INT for a TD in the second half but couldnt hold onto the ball. Never the less, showed great vision and awareness with the ability to make plays.

    Rey Maualuga- LB (USC)

Definitely didnt disappoint. I still like the idea of taking this guy at #12. Has a knack at creating havoc in the backfield and being the playmaker on defense that the scouts say he is. Caused a fumble tonight which only proves how valuable this guy can be at the Pro level.

rey showed up to play with the big boys tonight. i dont think i would complain at all if we got him. reports were he was doing terrible in practices. well he shut everyone up like always.

raji was a huge dissapointment. imo, we should NOT draft up for this guy. why lose a potential starter in the 3rd or 2nd for him?

the north just didnt seem prepared at all.

Well you can take things from the game but I do not think at all that it can or should hurt someone to the point of falling out of round 1 etc.. if they were thought of going ie. Raji, struggled but had a good week of practice in front of the important people and you have to look at everything not just the game.

I do agree that Harrell did not do himself any favors, already was fighting to get drafted and well showed that maybe a camp invite.

What? He made a couple of nice plays but also had an embarrassing whiff on Peerman, no less.

Yea, but Peerman is awesome. Best back in the draft even.

I asked if people had doubts about Raji because he didn't particularly well. In my opinion Raji is still very much worth a high pick.

Wouldnt shock me, Tiki had issues, Thomas Jones had issues, see a pattern here?

I hope Raji has a bad combine also, and he drops back down the board a bit. As Joe Collier said, the most critical position in the 3-4 defense is the NT. Without a good NT, it doesn't work. Every player in the draft is a risk. Why not take one on a critical position, and one of need? Worked out pretty well for us last season.
