Default Defensive players that are smart and tough?

OK, both Goodman and McDaniels have said they are looking at defensive players who are smart and tough. Implicitly, there seems to be less of an emphasis on athleticism and more emphasis on making good decisions and the basics. So then, who are some players in the upcoming draft that are both smart and tough?

Football smart or book smart? One could argue that Clady is very football smart, but not real book smart. I'm assuming you mean football smart, but could you clarify?

    Plenty of other smarts.

Most importantly. Smart enough to hang with the right crowd, stay out of trouble and be a good person.

PacMan is probably football smart. Look where that got him.

Ask that again after they take the IQ test at the combine and everyone goes apeshit.

Wow, what happened to this thread? WTF! Anyway, yeah, Rey made a couple of really nice plays but then he also had some gaffes from over running plays or whatever.

But Im going to put Cushing, and CMJ on that list.

im starting to like Ev. Brown more and more, im pretty sure he is a bright kid (but it might have been someone else i heard about) and he could possibly be our very D Ware in time. he gained weight and strength to become more of an every down threat in college

he is one guy i would love to draft in the first
