Thread: Jake Delhomme joins Texans

The Houston Texans have agreed to terms on a contract with retired quarterback Jake Delhomme, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Houston worked out both Delhomme and veteran Jeff Garcia on Tuesday following the season-ending injury to Matt Leinart, a league source told Schefter earlier.

Not a horrible signing although i still think their young guy Yates will be ok for them.

I was actually interested to see how TJ Yates would be too. ACC QB's tend to surprise a lot of people. I guess it wasnt worth risking a playoffs spot to see if he was any good.

And who knows. Yates may still start. It's a new system for Delhomme. Nonetheless, they needed a QB for depth.

Delhomme will basically be there so the Texans won't have to use Owen Daniels at QB. Yates will still be the starter. Delhomme was damn worthless when he got to Cleveland and I expect he hasn't gotten any better drinking beers on his couch.
