A nme that noonehas really been talking about since he projects top 10, but what if teams go w/ Brown and/or Maybin due to his injury history? I think if he slipped to 12, we'd have to give him a serious look.

Brian Orakpo
Height: 6-4 | Weight: 260 | 40-Time: 4.75
Strengths:
Outstanding athlete...Great speed, acceleration and quickness...Very explosive with a burst...Smooth and fluid...Does a great job in pursuit...Terrific range and is comfortable in space...Phenomenal strength...Excellent leaper and bats a lot of passes...Plays with good leverage...Gives a solid effort against the run...Has an extremely impressive physique...Intense and competitive...Hard worker...Very productive ... Offers some versatility ... Still improving and has upside.
Weaknesses:
Durability is a major concern...Inconsistent...Motor runs hot and cold...Repertoire of pass rush moves is limited...Average instincts and awareness...Doesn't use his hands well...Has a narrow base...Is not overly stout at the point of attack and can be run at...Has some trouble shedding blocks...Underachieved early in his career...Is he a 'tweener?
Notes:
Could also project to outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme...A two-year starter for the Longhorns...Weight just 210 pounds when he arrived in Austin...His uncle, Chike, played football at Iowa...Named the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2005...Missed four games with a right knee injury in 2007...Recorded 3.0 TFL and 2.0 Sacks in the Holiday Bowl as a junior and was named MVP...Was a unanimous 1st Team All-American in 2008...Won the Nagurski Trophy (nation's top defensive player), Lombardi Award (nation's top lineman) and Hendricks Award (nation's top defensive end), and was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year as a senior...Missed some time in 2008 with a sprained left knee...A beast in the weight room who reportedly bench presses 515 pounds and power cleans 380 pounds...Is said to have a 40+ inch vertical...One of the best pass rushers in the nation and should be one of the top defensive prospects available thanks to a standout senior campaign and amazing workouts.

Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane. Tim Crowder was more consistent than Orakpo was at Texas and look how he turned out. Texas makes great college players, and produces average pros. Mediator talks about this a lot on the Mane. Orakpo or JL at #12 would make me kill myself. Look at Orakpo's inconsistencies as Scott mentioned. He has the physical stuff (injuries suck though) -- but can he ever mentally put it together? Time to get strong minded players who give the effort and bring it every down. Orakpo isn't one of those players.
PASS ON HIM.
but tell me the pic w/ the chains isn't badass.
I look like that after good dumps dude. I'm not that impressed.![]()
