Thread: Another mock off-season

    Default Another mock off-season

This is another one of Sabres39's mock off-season:

    Free agency:

Sign Chris Canty DE from the Cowboys

The guy is 6'7'' 304 lbs and would fill our need at the other DE position aside Marcus Thomas. Not to mention he provides great production from the position, with his 37 tackles and 3 sacks.

Sign Terrell Suggs OLB from the Ravens

Will instantly provide this defense with a young star, and more importantly a difference maker on the defense. The guy gives us a pass rush that we have lacked since Trevor Pryce, and hopefully a legit defense with him.

    2009 NFL Draft:

I think Detroit will stupidly take a QB with the #1 overall pick, and when all of the OT start to come off the board, there will be a mad rush to get the ones that you teams like, kind of like last year. This benefits Denver as teams like Detroit, Philadelphia, etc all need an OT. So I have Detroit trading their #20 and #33 overall picks for a total of 1430 points to Denver for the #12 and #79 overall picks for a total of 1395 points. Now to the mock draft:

#20 - BJ Raji NT Boston College

As long as we stay ahead of Atlanta in this draft, we will get our franchise NT on the defense.

#33 - Clint Sintim OLB Virginia

We get our other 3-4 OLB to go with Suggs. The guy is going to be a great pass rusher, and will be a great addition to any defense.

    #48 - Patrick Chung S Oregon

As everyone knows, Denver has a major need at safety. With this pick, Denver not only drafts for need, but also gets the second best safety in the draft, behind William Moore. This will hold us off until next year, which will be the year of the safety. There is going to be so many great safety's in the draft next year, it isn't funny.

#110 - Rashad Jennings RB Liberty

This guy is going to be a big bruising running back. The guy is about 235 lbs. Would you want to see that steaming at you? Him and Torian will combine to form a great running back tandem for years to come.

#132 - Worrell Williams ILB California

Not only is he DJ's brother, but the guy can also fill our need for both talent and depth at the ILB position.

    #141 - Kevin Ellison S USC

Played on the greatest college defense ever, and was the emotional and team leader of it. Will provide great depth at the safety position.

I don't feel like doing the rest of the mock draft.

So our team would look like this:

    QB - Jay Cutler
    RB - Ryan Torian/Rashad Jennings
    FB - Peyton Hillis
    WR - Brandon Marshall
    WR - Eddie Royal
    WR - Brandon Stokley/Chad Jackson
    TE - Tony Scheffler/Daniel Graham
    LT - Ryan Clady
    LG - Ben Hamilton
    C - Casey Wiegmann/Corey Lichtenseiger (spelling)
    RG - Chris Kuper
    RT - Ran Harris

    DE - Chris Canty
    NT - BJ Raji
    DE - Marcus Thomas
    OLB - Clint Sintim
    ILB - DJ Williams/Spencer Larsen
    ILB - Wesley Woodyard/Worrell Williams
    OLB - Terrell Suggs
    CB - Champ Bailey
    FS - Josh Barrett
    SS - Patrick Chung
    CB - Dre Bly

I think that defense is much improved. What do you guys think?
