Even if Robertson is an option at DT, I think we'll still need a backup in the draft.

I don't buy into the Robertson hate. Our entire front 7 and Safeties sucked out loud. hard to pinpoint who was more at fault. Until he actually misses agame due to the knee "issue" I'm gonna say it's a nonfactor.

I'm pretty sure he's been playing with the knee problem since college..................as long as we look after him in practise and games, it shouldn't be an issue

He can't get push, make more plays, and can only play a little better than half snaps because of his knee and its a non factor? Me thinks not.

I've heard no credible source say his knee is limitin him. He is treated w/ kid gloves because people worry about it, but it has never given out on him or causedhim to miss any playing time. He seems to do just fine getting pushon goalline situations, where h is at his best. Perhaps his supporting cast, or lack thereof, may be part of the issue. There is noone else on the dline that caches have to plan aroun and we never blitzed enough to make coaches fear us. As a result, it IS possible that his "lack of pressure" may result from double teams and help from the FBs. I'm not saying he is firstteam pro bowl, but he's hardly the biggest concern on the defense.

Really? From what I remember he failed physicals because of his bad knee. Well any time you have a bone on bone condition it is limiting. You will not have full range of motion. I sure did what you saw, Robertson played admirably but you can't tell me that kind of condition doesn't effect his performance I know better. I was able just about every game Denver played this year and I really didn't notice him being double teamed. What I did notice was no push up the middle.

I dig your draft prediction. I would like it even more if you dropped the selection of a kicker with the last 5th round pick. I know it's sort of a free pick, but I would select CB or even a NT.

Maybe yer right about the push, but I know he didn't get pushed around on goalline situations. Lack of push could also b scheme ad NOONE knows what out former DC was actually thinking as far as schem goes. Maybe the DT's assignments were to just try to kep the OGs off of the LBs. In short yardge, when the DTs could just dig in, I thought he did well. I also know there was nothing on note on the D last year. Was he part of it? sure. But how big a part? Failing a physical means nothing to me. He failed all the physicals since college. I'm sure the knee is monitired, but he was playing w/ that same "bad" knee at Kentucky and managed to land himself a top 5 draft slot anyways. Again, I think that he and Thomas may just be OK if e actually had some support on the ends and a scheme that plays to their abilities.
