Bears were within striking distance most of the game.
Hanie played well enough for a first time starter, but 2 of his 3 INTs were costly. On one, it put the Raiders in FG position. In the other, the Bears were in the Raiders 7 yard line on 2nd and 1. Both those turned into FGs, so one was 3 points, while the other was a 6 to 10 point swing. That's 9 to 13 points right there.
Bears defense played pretty well, limiting Oakland possessons to FGs until the last drive. Jennings was playing tough bump and run all game, but Carson made him pay the last time.
Absolutely great performance by the Oakland kickers. Lechler owned Hester, using high punts, directional punts, and a booming 80 yarder to stuff Chicago's offense near their endzone. Great coverage team too.
One thing .... the Raiders are a much more explossive team with Carson, and he's only getting more comfortable with the system and his teammates. The WRs lack some experience, but they have talent. Their rushing offense with their #2 back is still pretty good.
Good win by the Raiders. Funny, they play a lot like the Bears.
