I don't think his game compares to Ed Reed.

Mays is a hard-hitter, and so is Reed, but Ed Reed is out of this world. He's talented in pass coverage, run coverage, returns, intelligence, leadership...Mays...we know he's a hard-hitter. We know his physical attributes are freakish, but like G said (I think it was G), there are still a lot of question marks about his game.

I'll agree, too early to make comparsions to Reed. I do like Mays game though and think he is going to be a good one.

I think Chung is every bit as good as Mays from the couple times I've seen those teams play this year. I'd rather take Chung in the late 1st or early second and take a DL or LB with our first pick. Mays just hasn't shown the type of play making abilities that Polamalu, Reed, etc. have. We already have a physical freak in Barrett...
I NO LONGER support Rahim Moore.

I haven't seen much on Chung yet but sounds like he is a player.

Nice mock, but even if WW worked out at SS, I still think it would be foolish not to take a safety somewhere in this draft. I personally like Chung in the second, but even taking one on day 2 would add much needed depth to the position.

If DJ goes down again, then we will be stuck with mediocre Safety play again if WW fills in for DJ.

And in the event that WW does not work out at SS, we need some sort of backup plan. Im tired of the 1-year FA aquisitions...I think we can all agree that not a single FA safety worked out for us this year....but hopefully our new staff will have a better eye for experienced defensive talent....but we desperately need to add a safety (maybe two) through the draft.

I think we can pick up a DE or DT through FA and address the safety position with one of those picks. Otherwise, I wouldnt be upset if our draft went this way. Nice job SA.

I'll go with the same scerio:

    1st Round: Brandon Spikes MLB
-We still need that presence in the middle as a playmaker, leader, and the voice of the defense. We have been missing that kind of player since Al Wilson left and letting Lynch go didn't help. People want to see Larsen get a chance but I don't see him being nothing more then a backup and Special Teams player. If I'm wrong he can beat out Spikes.

Late 1st Early 2nd Round: Peria Jerry DT
    - Good motor and can collapse the pocket in the middle (had 6 sacks). We really don't have much behind Thomas who is average and Robertson who has knee problems so we pick Jerry. Can get into the rotation and hopefully start in 1-2 years when Robertson's knee really gives out.

    2nd Round: Patrick Chung S
    - It's hard for me not to pick a RB with these two 2nd round picks but with the defense in the shape it's in and us getting a new coach we might as well bring in as much defensive talent for them to work with. We are also thin at safety. Chung can compete with Barrett and Woodyard (if he gets a shot) at the safety position. We shouldn't count on Woodyard who has played LB the last 4 years and Barrett who hasn't shown anything to become diference makers.

    3rd Round: Will Davis DE
    - Not a speed rusher or run stopper but just an average DE. With the trouble we have had stopping the run and getting to the QB investing in more then 1 DL in the draft would be smart. Also with the horible display of defense last year I'm positive that the Broncos will go with a proven DC.

I chose all defense on the first day for the performence we had last season. Some could say it was the defensive scheme and poor coaching but we already have our offense in place for the most part and think it's time to actually spend time on the defense. We could use an OG/C, RB, WR, and CB with the later picks. I would really like to get James Davis to take some pressure off of Jay but with our current situation I don't see that happening. Mocks usually change around FA so I'll make another then.

I'll only do rounds 1-3 because I don't know much about the later round prospects. I'll know more late once draft season comes around.

Change made to round 5. W/ Shipley goin back, Cosby is now the pick. They have been rated almost identical on various sites, so I don't think he's a reach here...unless the Fiesta Bowl made that much of an impact on his draft stock.

Due to LeSean McCoy declaring, updates have been made to rounds 1 and 2. Cushing and James Davis are out. McCoy and Chung are in.

So it looks like this (until the next underclassman bomb is dropped anyways):

Rd 1-LeSean McCoy, RB, Pitt (trade back)
Rd 1-Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU (acquired pick)
    Rd 2-Patrick Chung, S, Oregon
    Rd 3-Kyle Moore, DE, USC
    Rd 4-Worrell Williams, MLB, Cal
    Rd 5a-Quan Cosby, WR, Texas
    Rd 5b-Myron Pryor, DT, Kentucky
Rd 6-AQ Shipley, C, Penn State
    Rd 7-Demonte Bolden, DT, Tennessee

So defensively, that adds 4 Dlinemen, a MLB and a Safety. Thee are 3 interesting Free Agent names at OLB who I think can be had at a reasonable cost. The only issue is the health of Boss Bailey. Hopefully the new coach won't be uber-loyal to Champ and play Boss just to keep him happy. These guys will get paid, but nowhere near what Ray Lewis, Suggs, etc will be calling for. Here are my 3 options as a reasonably priced OLB fix:

    Karlos Dansby Arizona Cardinals
    Michael Boley, Atlanta Falcons
    Leroy Hill, Seattle Seahawks

Rocky Bernard of Seattle is the only FA DT I really like once Haynesworth resigns, but I still say once we get a quality defensive scheme and some bulk around Thomas, Robertson and Peterson, the interior will be OK.

Nice mock, but I think McCoy could fall into the second round -- but who knows. I'd take him in a trade back fo sho.

Even better. Would make my maneuvering scenario easier if we just had to get in early round 2 rather than late round 1.

And for the record...this is my wish list...not a prediction.

Can I wish for all 9 picks to be first rounders?
