Thread: Mock Draft

  1. #1

    Default Mock Draft

I have the Broncos selecting with the 12th overall pick:

    Knowshon Moreno, RB, Georgia
When you get down into the 6th and 7th string running backs, its time to get a solid starter. The last 2 Aprils brought a breadth of talent in the RB department: Peterson, Lynch, C. Johnson, Slaton, Forte, Stewart, F. Jones, etc. The Broncos hope to keep pace with Moreno.

The rest of my mock plays out at http://draftking.blogspot.com

Thoughts about the Moreno pick?? discuss please, I'd like to hear what Broncos fans think and who you guys want Denver to draft.

Like the player and wouldnt mind him there. Still think we can get a quality back in the second and take a stronger player for defense in the first. But, i cant argure against the pick.

Javon Ringer could be an option as well in a later round if the Broncos have needs elsewhere. Where else could the Broncos draft in round 1?

I guess, if Rey Maualuga isn't available.

But if the Broncos are desparate for anything, it is MLB. That was painfully
easy to see last Sunday. I guarantee that if Rey is in the middle no opponent
would rack up 289 yards in rushing.

Well, about a week ago i did my version 1 mock and took Chung at S with the first pick. But, i also didnt know exactly which picks we had and for which rounds. So in the next couple of weeks i will be doing my version 2.0 Mock. But certainly Denver could look at DE, S, or LB to go along with RB in round 1. And now that Shanahan is out the new Coach may actually consider going RB in round one which is something Shanahan normally wouldnt do. But there are plenty of needs defensively that we can go after.

Keep in mind also that our draft could hinge on any FA's we may pick up in the offseason. If we get a DE or LB we may go with RB or S or vice versa.

I project Chung going in the second round and the Broncos may very well be able to pick him up there. However, I don't see any way Rey slips past 11th overall, he is too good to fall that far (at this point in time). Another LB of choice could be Laurinaitis, but I think that with Shanahan gone like you said, an RB could be picked here.

Love the pick. Could address MLB with the second rounder. Like Ellerbe or a stunna.

Terrible pick, especially with Mays available.

Not really. I know Mays is a good athlete and all but S is a position where there is room for read and react guys. There are enough guys in the 2nd.

Trade back and somehow acquire 2 late first round picks (Detroit would be a possible partner w/ their #19 and #33 overall). The 2 guys I think I want are:

    Brian Cushing, OLB, USC
    Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU

If we can land those 2 somehow, it gives us MUCH more flexibility during the draft and in real life.
