Default Broncos Draft Central: Broncos Trades, Moves, Etc.

    Broncos Draft Central

The Denver Broncos currently hold these picks in the NFL Draft. The first three picks are set in order based on how we finished and how we rotate in and out between the rounds. I will update this constantly and always keep you guys in the loop. I encourage you to start threads as well and get involved, but I hope this can be a mainstay and perhaps stickied. You know I'm good for it! Without further adieu. . . this is what we're currently working with.

    Draft Choices

    • First Round Selection #12
    • Second Round Selection #48
    • Third Round Selection #79
    • Fourth Round Selection
    • Fifth Round Selection (Via Seattle for Keary Colbert)
    • Fifth Round Selection (Original)
    • Fifth Round Selection (Via Dallas for Montrae Holland, reported by BPC on OrangeMane that Dallas confirmed it's this year and not 2010)
    • Sixth Round Selection (Original)
    • Seventh Round Selection (Original)
    • Seventh Round Selection (Via Atlanta for Domonique Foxworth, can escalate to a Sixth Rounder if he re-signs)

    Simpler Outlook: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 7, 7.

Pending Denver Pick Loss: To New York Jets for Dwayne Robertson. (Conditional on his playing time per snap percentage)

I don't believe Robinson will cost Denver a pick since he didn't make 60% of the snaps this year.

Yeah, I thought it was 60% and we tossed in a third -- but E, you're probably right on us not having to get a pick at all. I think Klis said something like that back in an e-mail blog back in the day as well. I'll e-mail him and some other Denver writers today to see if they'd have a clue. It'd just be nice to know.

Three fifths...certainly we can turn that into a second, with a player added on, right...

    End up with something like 1, 2, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

I doubt that happens. But Denver could use them to move up in the 3rd a couple spots.

I'd love for us to sneak into the second or third again with the mid-round picks we have. I guess it would depend on who is there and what we've addressed. I'm all about picks, but if there is a player who the Broncos feel is late-first value #58 and want to trade up and get him, I'm all for it. This draft is extremely deep at positions we need and in the areas we have a lot of picks. We should be pretty excited. If we had 10+ rookies contribute this year, I see it being no different next year. Figure in a special UDFA as usual or two -- and we'll have another positive class.

If it was my team i would continue to pay off on all the big bonuses. keep drafting that way long term we should be good. i know it aint sexy and it wontpay off short term but i think it would be a good long term move

I agree. The only thing I would add to your post is we need to find the B list FA that come in a provide depth to team.

It's sad but i wish we had more picks than that! We have A LOT of holes to fill on defense.

i iknow for robertson we dont owe any picks if he is under 60%, but i dont know if he is.

I heard today on the radio that they (the radio guys, not broncos brass) dont expect bly to be here next year. I personally wouldnt like it, but maybe a bly and a 5th and 5th for somones 2nd wouldnt be a bad move.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

He has been in the back of my mind all along, but since the Broncos were
looking at drafting around #19 or until last week, I didn't give them much of a
chance at him. But he is one guy I would be tempted to throw the bank at.

I mentioned elsewhere that Larsen was considered by many as the second-
best LB in the PAC-10 last year. Maualuga was that #1 guy . . . by far.
