You're an idiot if you wouldn't want Ray Lewis on our football team. His past is his past and he has MORE than made up for what he was accused of doing. He is a great leader on the field and VERY active in the Baltimore community. You don't want a guy like that on our team? He's kept his nose clean for nine years. If you wouldn't like a guy like that on our team, you're a bonehead

Nice. Anybody that wants Ray Lewis on the downside of his career to come do his gay ass Michael Jackson/Richard Simmons interpretive dancing and general shit talking and think it's going to "motivate" the other guys is a dumbass, a jackass and an overall moron.

You've obviously never heard any of Ray Lewis's team mates talk about how much of a great leader and motivator he is on the field and in the locker room. You've obviously never seen him on the field. Would you rather have a bunch of passive fruits like Webster and Winborn running around playing LB for us? What about guys like McCree, Fox, and Manuel playing safety? A bunch of retards that can't tackle and celebrate like they lost their virginity when they make a basic, routine tackle. Spare me. Our team lacks solid character. Ray Lewis is a character guy, and while he may be on the downside of his career, he is still better all around than 95% of all of the other MLBs in the NFL. He is still FAST and he still hits like a freight train. He is smart on the field. His positioning is AWESOME. He reads plays extremely well. People like Ray Lewis, Darnell Dockett (with the Cardinals), Brett Favre, Ed Reed, etc, motivate people and fire people up. He talks shit because he backs it up like not many other people can or have. He does his stupid, ridiculous dances because it fires him up. Fine with me. He brings it game in and game out. Call me all the names you want. I think more people here will agree with me than you. If we kept our whole defense the same and added JUST Ray Lewis, we would be in the middle of the league in all around defense, not toward the bottom.

Yea, i can understand if you just dont like the guy. There are plenty of people like that. But aside from his silly dance the guy is well respected for his role and play with the Baltimore Ravens. And even at 33 the guy still brings it every game.

Denver, especially the defense, needs his type of attitude.

That's the kind of stuff our team needs. We need people to get pissed off and make some plays. I watched every video of Maualuga from USC on youtube that I could find. THAT dude is a presence. We need something like that to scare people and make people not want to go in to that area of the field, much like Champ does. QBs don't want to throw to Champ because they know the coverage is the best and there is a high possibility the WR won't catch the ball, champ will deflect it, Champ will pick it off, or Champ will tackle the WR immediately. RBs don't like to run toward Champ because he is one of the few WRs in the NFL that is willing to make actual tackles. We need a MLB that opposing offenses game plan around, not unlike Ray Lewis. Watch a televised game with any team vs the Ravens. Ray Lewis is everywhere, all the time. We don't have a player like that on our D.

Lotsa respect for Lewis, but he won't fix a damn thing here. He's too old to still be here when this team is ready to contend legitimately. He's still a stud, but we need younger, long term solutions.

You started the passive aggressive namecalling guy. And Ray Lewis is not better than 95 percent of the linebackers in the league, that is ridiculous. I admit he "WAS" the best linebacker in the game. 5 years ago. One of the reason Shanahan is fired is for bringing has been retreads on the downside of their career here. Let's not make that mistake again.

We need high character guys, not lying criminals. Is that so hard to understand?

Not at all. But that happened nine years ago. And as i have said he has been a model citizen here in Baltimore since that incident. Marshall has had more run ins with the law than Lewis has.

I lean toward not wanting him hear, but I am curious, how does one MORE than make up for double murder? Just curious...

As far as I'm concerned, he didn't do it. Rae Carruth did it. Ray Lewis didn't do it. I said he made up for the accusations. He is well respected and well liked in the Baltimore community. If they are willing to accept him there, where he has played his whole career, I think everyone should be willing to forgive and forget. He has shown no indication over the past nine years that he is still in an unfavorable position.

Exactly. Whether people want to believe he was more involved in that is their perogative. But at the end of the day he was cut loose and found not to be one of the killers. And if he was such a criminal as Atwater wants to perceive he would continue to tread down that road which he hasnt done. And the way i look at it, as long as he isnt a criminal element currently and plays at a high level that is what is most important to this team. Im not saying he will be cut loose, it was a shot in the dark to see where people were at. But if your biggest reason for not bringing him in is because of a incident 9 years ago i guess we better do some background checks and cut Brandon loose as well. Past history is just that, history.
