Newsflash.. lots of running backs are getting stonewalled on big contracts, and the contracts guys like Chris Johnson and Deangelo Williams got are proving to be very, very bad moves by their teams. The age of the Running Back is over.
Is it true that Hillis is dumb as a bag of rocks?
I've never read anything like that here. A lot of posters do believe that he's better than anyone on our roster, but that's a far cry from anyone comparing him to these HoF RBs.
By the way, Sanders' running style wasn't just different than Peyton's & Campbell's, but it was incompatible with Campbell's altogether. Sanders would try to juke you, while Campbell built to run you over. I don’t believe that its humanly possible for any single RB, Hillis or anyone else, to have a running style that reminds you of both.

Hillis is more Earl Campbelll than Sanders or Sayers.

In Elway We Trust
I know the Browns have looked terrible without Hillis in the lineup.

The Browns won today and Hardesty had 122 total yards. They did just fine without Hillis.
Have you EVER seen a running back not get 100 yards if they were given 33 carries? His name is Monterio Hardesty. Even a dumb white boy could outdo him.
That said, it is mighty impressive that they were able to ride that stud back to an impressive 6-3 victory over the offensive juggernaught Seahawks led by Charlie Whitehurst! The guy was given 30 passing attempts and managed a blistering 97 yards passing and a stellar 35 rating. Only a team led by a premium quality back like Hardesty would have the firepower to defeat Charlie!![]()
I caught a few minutes of Sirius radio. Don't remember who it was, but it was around 12:30 central. One of the two hosts was saying that he picked Seattle, because he had seen (maybe done it in the booth, might have been Wilcox) three of Cleveland's games, and he watched this one. Both hosts were saying it was the most pathetic game they have ever seen by two quote unquote NFL teams. They talked about how before yesterday, they didn't think it was possible for a team to have the ball for 42+ minutes (CLE T.O.P.) and only get three field goals.
Anyway, the one guy that seems to be very familiar with the '11 Browns said the reason they didn't pick them this week, even against lowly Cleveland, was because Hillis wasn't playing. He said that the only way the Browns are going to get back on track is to get Hillis healthy and running like he did last year.
