But, when you are talking a circus catch that gets your leg stuck in the turf and bent over by two defenders, resulting in a torn hamstring, and a pulled hamstring this season, it's hard to blame work load on him.

If there was a workload last year, it was not the traditional running back touches, but the fact that he was also their second leading receiver (with the TE being #1 I believe), because of how bad they have been at QB and WR.
Im not blaming the injuries on his workload. Im merely saying that his playing style simply wont allow him to be the type of runner he is 25-30 times a games for more than a few seasons. He's a solid player and would be a great compliment to a pro-style back. I'd love to have him back in Denver for the right price and in a part time role. But if the plans are for him to be an every down back...he'll be retired in 4 years.

He is injury prone at this point. Like it or not, that's what he is.

I love the guy, but Chaz is right. He is a 10-12 touch kind of back and if I were a GM I wouldn't break the bank for him.

just like I stated earlier in the thread. He's a throwback and his style of play will shorten his career unless he's in a Jonathan Stewart/ DeAngelo type situation

Something got to be up with your Jr/Shanny like hatred of Hillis.

He also said, in that same presser, that he had zero interest in trading Hillis:

“There was no way I’m trading Peyton Hillis,” he said. “There was no way that was going to happen. Why would I trade one of our best players? I wouldn’t do it.”

No. He winning the Madden cover away from his boy, Vick, has him all upset. That, and the trade is the example that keeps people bashing another one of his faves.. McD.

Hillis just keeping his boyz down, yo.

Seriously, what a bum. So bad the Browns don't even want to give him another contract.

Agreed but I would like him to come back to Denver to get them. I'm not suggesting a big contract, just fair.

I think it's time for all of us to move forward and on from Hillis.

I agree. If he landed back here in a specific role...fine. Until that happens, he's overrated, wants to be overpaid and he's not a Bronco

Hillis is no longer a Bronco so I moved the thread to Other NFL Teams...

At what point will people admit he was a one year wonder? Yeah, McD was stupid for trading him for Quinn, but that wasn't the worst move he made. Not by a long shot.

Well, only because of such stiff competition. McD made at least half a dozen or more indefensible personnel moves, large and small, in just a year and a half. They kind of blend into one another after a while.

and its not just the individual move. Its the total trades COMBINED. Hillis could be a VERY good complimentary piece to any offense. He could be a starting TB, as well as a third down, goal line, or short yardage. He's good at the run and good at catching the ball. Has nothing to do with the incredibly ridiculous statements that some are making that we are saying he's some kind of "super back." The reason he's demanding more money is he knows he's earned it. The Browns have proved to be a worse team without him.

He's a reasonably good player, just way overrated. I do wish we wouldn't have traded him, but I wouldn't break the bank for him by any means.
