Thread: Good Article About the Realities of Officiating

A good article, in my opinion, about things I deal with almost every week. Maybe it'll help people think differently about officials, but I doubt it.

Let's take a moment to call upon a few coaches for insight. Buddy Anderson of Vestavia Hills, Jerry Hood of Clay-Chalkville and Chelsea's Wade Waldrop all shared that the officials are the experts. They don't know if their coaching staffs could pass the exam that officials take every summer.

"They better know the rule book," Anderson said. "Better than us coaches. That's what they are there for."
