All this shows is the different philosophies and approaches the two teams' front offices take and have been taking. The Patriots under BB have always had a "team first" philosophy and attitude and have been built for the present and the future. Pursuant to this attitude and philosophy, the Pats make sure they have good depth at QB and all other positions so that when the starter, including Brady, goes down there is a capable backup who knows the system to step in.

The Colts on the other hand have been building only for the present with Manning and have neglected to obtain good or even adequate backups for many of their starters, particularly Manning. To not have a good and capable backup for Manning on the roster requiring the Colts to have to pick up Kerry Collins right before the season began and to start him is a horrible indictment against the Colts organization and the primary reason the Colts are win less this season. If the Colts had groomed and kept a good capable backup QB, the Colts would have 2-4 wins right now.

You are also forgetting that the Colts have been in decline the last two seasons. The Colts were 14-2 two seasons ago, dropped to 10-6 and barely made the playoffs last season and this season they would have likely only won 5-8 games with Manning.

Only if you are delusional and/or completely ignore ALL the facts surrounding and associated with both situations - a good team built for the present and future with a good capable backup QB vs. a rapidly declining team with little or no quality depth at key positions including NO good or capable backup QB.

Is that the record you are saying the Colts would have had this season with Peyton Manning playing?

If so, then I respectfully disagree and ask that you send me some of the top quality psychedelic drugs you are taking or on.

If you are referring to the Patriots record without Brady, remember that team was coming off a 16-0 regular season and likely would have been 14-2 or 15-1 with a healthy Brady. Thus, there was a 3-4 game difference without Brady, which is what I believe would be the difference this season for the Colts between playing Manning and a good capable backup QB, which the Colts unquestionably have not had or played this season.

I'm going to respectfully disagree with you here, mainly because if I actually post a response it will spiral into me calling you a homer retard.

    Go Bengals!

Well there are definitely times I may be homer, but I try to ALWAYS be object and truly believe I am being objective here. I was a staunch supporter of Drew Bledsoe and had severe reservations about Brady initially. However, over time I have grown to appreciate and admire how much he has improved through hard work on and off the field and how great he has become. Similarly, I really appreciate and admire how great Peyton Manning is as a QB and person (my respect and admiration for Manning has really grown due to all of his kind, thoughtful, and respectful actions and gestures such as hand writing notes, etc. that I have read and learned about).

I strongly believe that Brady and Manning are in the same class of greatness and essentially on par with each other as QBs. Manning can clearly do some things as a QB better than Brady while Brady can clearly do some things as a QB better than Manning, but when considering how well they do everything as QBs I believe they are very close in greatness. If the Patriots didn't have Brady, I would love to have Peyton Manning as their QB. Where I am probably a homer is that if I had my choice between the two of them, I would chose Brady as the one I want as QB of the Patriots.

My dispute or disagreement with you and this thread is that you/it argues or asserts that Brady is in an inferior or lower class of QBs or greatness, while I view them as essentially 1A and 1B.

BTW your Bengals have let me down in their games against the Steelers and Ravens.

They had no shot against Baltimore with no Green. The chink in that Baltimore armor is their lack of a corner who is capable of handling a number one consistently.

We got caught up in trying to pound the ball against a team that is damn near impossible to run on. We thought it was 2009 and we overestimated the importance of Ray Lewis as a run stopper (at this point in his career).

I actually think we have a shot at Pittsburgh this time around. Losing Green after he just put up one of the catches of the year and Hall tearing his Achilles halfway through the game just killed us.

Green's 100% and while Hall being out hurts, we won't have to make the midgame adjustments to compensate for losing him.

    Here's hoping.

Yeah, I saw part of the game against the Steelers and those were killer injuries. I will be hoping along with you!
