Thank goodness you are taking the right steps and getting this checked out. I'm sure that while you may not have noticed much of a change with the bloating due to your diet, your body probably thanks you.
It can be scary going to the doctor, but I'm glad you are. Better to get things checked, and if needs be, nipped in the bud ASAP.

    Good luck and God Bless.

I knew a man a long long time but I never knew him at all. Small in stature, big at heart but he always stood tall. In my mind he could do no wrong misunderstood all along. He worked hard all his live to get what he had. He was a little rough around the edges simple in mind but always had a kind eye for me. I will miss you Dad.

Hopefully it's nothing serious. Good for you for going. It's better to jump through the hoops and get the tests than to worry and be distracted by the unknown.

Good luck douche bag. Don't get to excited over WebMD crap, if you spend too much time on that site you'll be convinced you have the bubonic plague with a touch of the HIV.

After some preliminary tests, they're sending me over to Meritcare to do some X-Ray's on my chest in order to check on my heart. They think it's very possible I have a heart murmer and that issues regarding this could be the root of my problem. I haven't been this worried in my life, I'm very sad and scared right now. I hope everything will be okay.

I have some other tests that need to be done on me too. When I'm back from Meritcare (hopefully soon, I don't know how long this will take) -- I'll give some more thoughts on this. I have another meeting with the NP and Doc on Wednesday and will know more.

    Bye for now.

Better that they test for every possibility than they skip something and miss the cause.

Regardless of what it is, you'll feel better once you know what you're facing. Having a way to fight back will bring you relief. Hang in there and know you're doing the right thing, no matter how hard or scary it is. We're all here for you.

I just got back from Meritcare after they did PA and lateral X-Rays on my chest. They didn't interpret them there, because the Doc and NP told me to bring back copies to them at the Wednesday meeting. So far, I have written down that I have pitting edema (which I had thought earlier) and they're trying to really figure out why. They were all very nice about it, but told me that it's concerning that a man at 21 who hasn't had any prior health issues had this sudden onset.

So far, they've done the X-Ray, urine analysis, CBC test, a comprehensive metabolic panel and a TSH. They might need to do more tests, but they said to not worry about a thing until they can go over the results and meet with me at 10 AM on Wednesday.

I don't know what to expect, I really don't know what's going on. I've been very fortunate to not have any health related issues my whole life (Well allergies, but those are so common) and to possibly have something very serious wrong with me is just a total shock.

When they told me a lot of these things, that I'm very young and that it's concerning -- I teared up a little bit, and I don't cry much. I felt completely helpless. I felt like a pansy. I felt like I have done something wrong in my life to deserve whatever is happening. I just feel like somehow this is my fault.

I called my Mom today just to let her know, and hearing her cry (and who knows, this might not even be serious) made me feel worse than I have in a long time. I talked to my step-mom, and she got down too. I talked to my dad, but the cell coverage dropped, because he was out in the Boondocks doing some Government work. I don't even want to call my sister, because she has enough to worry about.

This just sucks balls. When my cousin was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and went through all his treatment, we always told him to stay positive because that's a big way to make it through such tragedies. Oddly enough, I can't even heed to the own advice I gave a fellow friend. It just doesn't seem like there is anything right now I can do to be happy.

Before I had my tests done, they asked me if I was sad or depressed as of late -- and the obvious answer was no. I had nothing to be depressed about. I am blessed with a wonderful family, the opportunity that I have in this country and have more friends than I can ever ask for. I have a roof over my head, get food in my stomach and don't have many of the worries many do these days.

However, when I got into that clinic and hospital. I felt blank and empty. I hate those places. I felt like a part of me died when I checked in and a part of me left when I checked out.

Things work in mysterious ways. I just got off the phone with the NP who discussed some of my results from my blood and urine analysis. My EKG was fine, so I think that might mean my heart is okay; but the blood and urine analysis turned out very abnormal. Something wrong with my kidney's perhaps? I have a lot of protein and other things in my system that usually are flushed out and all that jazz, so I'm going back to the clinic right now to discuss some things and then have an on going 24 hour urine analysis. I guess I'm supposed to make an appointment with a specialist as well.

    *sigh*
