Default Andre Gurode Cut/Sign Andre Gurode (merged)

Andre Gurode, the 5 time pro bowl interior lineman for the Dallas Cowboys was cut after he refused to restructure his contract. This guy would be an instant upgrade on the Broncos Oline, either at center or left guard. Worst case scenario, we have a solid guy that can backup all 3 interior line positions. I hope the Broncos claim him now, because if he clears waivers, there will be teams lining up to sign him.

Gurode would easily start over Walton here.

I actually like Walton a bit more than Beadles to be honest. I could see Gurode starting at left guard.

    G or C?

Id like him over beadles, does he play C though?
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

Good point. I, too like Walton much more than Beadles. Gurode at G would be fine by me

He's been the Cowboy's starting center. I think he's gone to five straight pro bowls at center.

Not sure how strongly the coaches believe Walton & Beadles are the future at their positions. They haven't shown me much at all, but if we think they are going to develop into solid pros then I'd like to let them continue to develop.

On the other hand, if we have any doubts about either I'd love to bring in the former Buff.

There's something about the name Beadles that makes me laugh a little. Anyway, I hope that Andre's cut heals quickly and without infection

He's also coming off a knee surgery, so I don't know if that played into his release. I work with a couple Cowboy fans, who were talking about him at lunch, thinking he was going to be traded (saw the release news when we got back). They said Cowboys were going to move him because they are paying him a lot, and have a young guy they really like.

He is overpaid for his age... But he made the list of NFLN's Top 100 Players after last season, which was (at least partially) voted on by peers if I'm not mistaken. So I think the guy can still play.

He has played in a similar system with the beefed up line and similar blocking. I haven't been all that impressed with Walton and I honestly think he wasn't ready to be an instant starter. This far in though, I don't know how good of an idea it would be to bench him and expect his ego and ability to rebound when we call on him to start again. This team is all about the youth movement and it might just be better to save the money and let these OLinemen take their lumps. Get Nalen in there to teach Walton about the finesse of the position. From what I have heard, he already has the nasty streak down.

Gurode is better than any guard or center on our roster. He would be a damn good addition to this team. I'd love to see us sign him and move Walton or beadles.
