Underrated candidate here - two great solos... Live version is best, but can't find a super clean version.

    First one ~ 2:00 -

    Second one ~ 4:00

    Randy!

The day before Osbourne was scheduled to return to England, Rhoads agreed to audition for Osbourne at a Los Angeles studio with his Gibson Les Paul guitar and a practice amp and started warming up. Osbourne, who was very inebriated on that day, said of the audition "He played this ******* solo and I'm like, am I that ******* stoned or am I hallucinating or what the **** is this?!" Osbourne has maintained that he immediately gave him the job. Rhoads recalled later, "I just tuned up and did some riffs, and he said, 'You've got the gig'; I had the weirdest feeling, because I thought, 'You didn't even hear me yet'".

I'm sure it's been said, probably even by me in this thread, but Gilmour's solo in Time is my favorite. Sometimes it's best to let it breathe.

This was a good fingerpicking electric guitar solo I'd never heard until 2 minutes ago

He definitely wouldn’t be someone I would mention, but that was excellent. I’ve always found the thumb pick to be a difficult technique to pick up, personally.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.
