I'm watching it right now. He seems to be that, "always the bridesmaid, never the bride", guy. He's always close to being in on the play, but never quite the guy to make it.
You'd think with all the attention that Von Doom receive, that Ayers would be able to shine only ever seeing one on one blocking. We'll see. He's got a year to prove himself in this new defense.

I do remember one play where Von got Jackson to step up and Ayers was there for a QB knockdown that resulted in a 3rd down incompletion. That's a positive play.
As for the bridesmaid comment, part of it was how badly VonDoom were beating Seattle's tackles. Almost unfair to ask Ayers to get there faster than they were.

Since they vacated Grantland for some stupid reason, I only go to ESPN for several things: All their radio shows are on locally and I like Lebetard and Rusillo, SVP's SportsCenter and Buster Olney, Jayson Stark and Tim Kirkjean. I don't listen to any of their NFL stuff.
I've quit espn altogether.
