Now, if only Robert Ayers would contribute a little...

No kidding. Man, where has he been? I am assuming he is still on the team.

Yes ndeed, I've said it all along, pressure up front makes any CB better... Now hoping these 2 will be able to hold their ground, but being able to shoot ANY gap is just not a bad tactic on D line.

By the way, the real name of the first Norwegian Horror Metal Band was Abba... :>)

ya, the only minor defense I'll give Ayers is he's been playing a lot of DT so far this preseason...going from OLB to DT is a pretty big step. But if he can get to the point where he can consistently beat 1 on 1 blocking--especially if it's a TE or RB--we'll have uber-versatility in our pass rushers. Doom, Von and Ayers can all drop into coverage, and we've already begun to see the SS and NB coming on the blitz. I'm expecting a fun year on defense, and I'm stoked for it (not saying we're going to be a top defense in the league, but after what we've had the past while, even being average will be sensational!)

The only issue with Von Doom is they could be weak vs power running right at them. Other than that, as long as the DTs don't allow the QB to step up at will, we should have a pass rush at Mile High. When's the last time we could say that?
    If not me, who?

He's more worried about lecturing the fanbase.

    For those of you interested.

Marcel Dareus hurt badly today, now on crutches.

I think this is going to be Ayers last season with us. Unless he steps it up a lot. He might be cut at end of season. Or if he adds 50 pounds to become a DT.

Wouldn't mind at all a second coming of "The Tractor"... I kinda surmised the same about Joe Mays a while back.

For real... wondering when Ayers decides to show up to games. The last time that happened was against the Titans. I'm beginning to think he is a bust.

^^ MasterShakes work of art. Not mine. He rocks!!! I'm a Broncos fan first and a Tebow fan second!!!!!!!!!!!

got to see him in person for the first time tonight, and his speed off the edge is flat nasty. . . should be fun to wtch this year. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Doom and Von might be 1 and 2 as far as explosive pass rushers go. They're really incredible.

I just hope what we saw tonight translates to the regular season. Their closing speed is unreal.

I don't care what we call him as long as he produces sacks and hurries.
