This one is for Beefstew and Hawgdriver; the story of "Bazooka Charlie" who fitted his WW2 Piper Cub spotter aircraft into a home-made improvised tank buster

A-10’s have the same engines as a CRJ-200. Fun fact.

We used to train near the A-10 range at Fort Drum years ago in the early 90's. We could watch the Hogs come in and blast old broken down Jeeps and tanks. Hell of a show!

My old man would take me to spring training in Tucson. Hi Corbett field (the Indians). A-10’s would be doing pattern work. I remember asking my dad how those things stayed in the air.

I once dealt with an A-10 that lost pressurization at 20,000' and descended back below 10,000' in less than 90 seconds. Somehow the pilot landed the plane. Hypoxic as a mofo. Funny guy when he landed though, whether he knew it or not.

Hey Dread, it's kinda funny this discussion in the other thread about Hitler and nationalism, I happen to be re-attempting Shirer's Third Reich history. Did you ever make it through that one?

Never did, no. I've focused more on WW1 over the past few years, though I've been getting fascinated (in a Horror movie kinda way) by European politics in the 1920's and '30.
