Injuries happen...its part of football and I'm not gonna fault McD for that one. I liked what I saw from DT when he was healthy, and I can see why McD drafted him.

    Tough break...

On a bright note, Moreno does look alot better this year. Maybe it's because of the weight he has lost or maybe it's because he feels McGahee is a threat? I'm not sure but whatever it is he looks ready to live up to being a 1st rounder for us.

It's still possible we watch who gets dropped by another team and end up cutting Ball. We will go into the season with 4 RB's.

And I think JJ will win the 3rd slot by the end of preseason. He will be a weapon one day.

I don't care how "good" Lance Ball looks in preseason. He's a "blah" NF RB and shouldn't be on any active roster.
If he's not a keeper Silk I'm holding you accountable for him not being so. I hope you're ok with that.

I think we picked up McGahee after Moreno had already reported. Who knows maybe Moreno was motivated to get into better shape because EFX didn't draft so they don't have anything invested in him.

    I want Fat Albert.

No matter how much I hate him and have never wanted him here. He is a good player and even at 20% he is better than anyone we have by 20%...Plus he, von and doom is a great way to pressure QBs.

If not him I hope its some CB, any CB, even lenny effing walls, to replace nathan jones.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

wheras Moreno is mostly a good pass catcher and does not
"see" the holes and lanes for running... he fails to time his cuts...
and he apparantly does not keep his feet underneath him...
they say he slips and trips a lot on handoffs...
and it is sheer luck when he actually hits an open lane...
rather than him timing his cut to let the play develop and the lane open.

So with the big gun getting say .. 200 carries...
and hitting the holes and lanes hard..
and Moreno getting around 200 tosses....
and doing well after the catch...

we have Ball and Johnson to fill in and play special teams.

Word is Ball is very much able to catch, block, and hit the holes...
apparantly much better than White was.

We are gonna have to make do with what we have I guess....
unless someone comes up on the waiver wire....
then Ball may get cut , too.

I expect we will draft a RB next year...
might want to revise that as that would mean he is catching about 100 balls @50% completetion a shade over 6 a game..or almost 8 @60%
    Not going to happen..

good riddance to bad garbage. . .

we didn't need him anyway. . . moreno and mcgahee are both productive short yardage runners, and johnson looks like a solid change of pace who might steal carries as the season progresses. . .

    too bad we didn't get a real fullback. . . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

i'm sure they both are. . . and it chaps my ass that the chefs got mcclain on a one-year deal while we dicked around with five backup tight ends. . .

nonetheless, i think our running game will still be one of the few relative bright spots-- at least compared to the giant black hole of FAIL that mcdaniels tried to call a "run game". . .

    not exactly going out on a limb, i know . . . .

    Yes absolutely..

I really think he can be a Michael Goodson type player for Denver. He isn't as fast but he's about as explosive and shifty as Goodson.
