Modified food starch -- probably flour that's been treated with chemicals to make it thicken better or last longer on the shelf

    Soy protein concentrate:

    Seems harmless-ish.

    Soy lecithin:

    Interesting article.

Flavoring? idk man. I found this article which says it's terrible but then you read it and it's like...completely unhelpful.

The Kroger CoM can had some random stuff on the back that sounds sketchy.

You can't count on food producers to have your back, for sure. What gets me is how much sugar (in some form) is added to just about everything we consume that isn't made by us from basic ingredients. It's like some law that food needs extra sugar these days to be edible. It's obscene how much sugar is in everything.

    Obscene.

    Rant terminated.
My wife and I made a decision to spend a little more time in the kitchen and make our meals from scratch. That way we control all of the ingredients that go in our food. Every once in a while I'll eat a candy bar or a soda and a bag of chips but we've noticed that we feel better and we embrace that time because we shop and cook together as a family.

The leftovers tasted better than the night of.

I have no qualms about the recipe. Come at me bro.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

This whole intermittent fasting thing may not pan out... It's a good idea in theory, but I'm pathetically weak of restraint. That's how I managed to get to 280 lbs in the first place obviously...

I may have to adjust to one of the other methods. I've read about several different ways of going about it, the one I picked is to skip breakfast and lunch (or occasionally eat small portions of fruits/veggies) every day and then eat whatever you choose for dinner (in reasonable portion sizes of course)

My stomach feels like it is eating itself alive after two days straight of doing it.

If I make potato soup (it's what I'm leaning towards, it sounds good) I'll make it with a 5 lb bag of red potatoes, 3/4th gallon of milk, 1/4th cup butter, 1 1/2 cups of crumbled bacon, 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1 teaspoon salt (may try 1/2 teaspoon first to see if it gives it sufficient flavor) 1 teaspoon onion powder (though I may actually saute an onion and include it in the soup instead)
That is the absolute worst diet I have ever read. That will shut your metabolism down pronto.

I think we're going to order in tonight. Probably Taste of Philly.

Late night last night, and we're both tired.

Daughter came into town - her and the wife are going to our favorite Mexican restaurant. I can't because it's the last day of our fiscal month and have to monitor sales for another hour or so.
