    No way.

It's calling the wife and making sure dinner will be on the table when he walks in the door.

I'm making chili for the game. Hamburger, chorizo, onions, Anaheim pepper, pablan pepper, kidney beans, tomato sauce and seasoning.

    How'm I doing?

I also use kidney beans, drained, but as well, I use chili beans, drained, and rather than tomato sauce, I use tomato juice.

    Tomato juice?

Hmmm. I don't have too large of a crock pot, so I only use one can of beans.

brown your meat first. sautee the onions in the fat, minced garlic too if you have it. drain ther browned meat before you add the tomato product and peppers.
cook low and slow, in the oven if your pot will fit, that way you can avoid all the stirring to avoid scorching the bottom.
I have a complete chili recipe and procedure in my cuisine thread check it out for tips and future chili endeavors. Have a great gameday and some awesome chili !

I use a big pot on the stove - brown the hamburger with the onion, then add the tomato juice, drained kidney/chili beans, and chili powder, salt, and after it comes to a boil, turn it down, and let it simmer for about 3 hours.
