When it comes to their offensive playbook, the Broncos have the philosophy of teach it now and practice it later.

Such is the way for a new coaching staff that missed a pile of offseason workouts because of the NFL lockout.

A lot of the terminology in Josh McDaniels' playbook was retained, but new coach John Fox wants the Broncos to run the ball in more two-back, two-tight end formations.

So much for this being the same offense that McDaniels ran.

really tough to implement a new offense in 1 week - hope they really use the pre-season games well

The playbook is much the same perhaps with some added running plays, but the terminology remains the same.
So it is not like they are starting from scratch like when Josh came to town.

Now on D everything is new again.

Does it bother anyone else that McCoy doesn't seem to have an offensive system that he is familiar with and teaches/coaches on a consistent basis, but seems more like a "yes" man?
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

    Two questions for you.

1.) Why wouldn't he be familar with a system that he ran now go on three years?

2.) Unless you're sitting in the meetings how would you or anyone else what McCoy knows or what he's teaching is coaches on a consistent basis?

Im with ya MO. I dont like Mccoy as the OC....I havent for a few years now, which is why every year at about game 6 I put in my sig, something like "the play calling sucks for the love of god"

Im hoping this year I can avoid that.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

You're right, I'm not in the coaches meetings. But, he's quarterbacks coach in Carolina in one system, comes to Denver and learns that crazy air it out scheme of McDaniels and then in comes his old coach Fox who wants to be more conservative with the ball, but he keeps a number of the concepts and terminology of the McDaniels' system. It just kind of smacks, "yes, boss" to me.

This is kind of starting to sound like how Shanahan was, with his defensive coordinators...
