Default Lions' Mikel Leshoure out for year

Ouch! According to the article below, "Lions coach Jim Schwartz says running back Mikel Leshoure has a torn Achilles tendon and is out for the year."

Edit: Not to be harsh, but I have to admit I am relieved this happened to a rookie RB that wasn't drafted by the Patriots.

Dang, that is going to suck for them. I like him as a player though so hopefully he can rebound.

Yes, especially given that their first round pick, I think it was Nick Fairly?, broke his foot.

LeShoure was a RB a lot of people thought the Pats would or should draft. Sucks for the Lions.

They were discussing this on Sports Center or Mike and Mike this morning and said that his injury was the 10th torn Achilles Tendon injury since the start or training camps.

They were talking about how everyone figured injuries would be up this year due to the lack of OTAs etc, but that the number of torn Achilles Tendon and ACL injuries so far this season is far beyond what most "experts" expected or predicted.

Guess I haven't been paying attention to the NFL other than the Patriots because I wasn't aware that there had been so many of these types of injuries.

Oh man, that hurts. Geezo, Lions fans just never get a break. Not only is Detroit in an economic collapse, but they have the worst football team ever. Sad. I was talking to a friend in Detroit and he said every year it is the same thing for Lions fans:Expect to be disappointed.
Man, that would be brutal. Year in and year out of totally sucking.
Here in Colorado, at least we have some hope
