Not sure exactly when it will be yet but they asked me in for a second interview.
Hoping for the best...really want this job!
Thank you all for the support and ideas.
They offered me the position today, I am very excited about the opportunity!
Okay haggle on salary now.
Congrats! I hope the company is a good one and you love your job!

Congratulations! The company I've been working for was bought out in June and the new owners are taking the assets and shutting it down, laying off 800+ people. Everyone was told to get their resumes prepared. I applied for an opportunity and interviewed Friday. The last guy said flat out "I want to hire you".
I have to pass a bunch of background checks before I start so I decided to keep working in the other position awhile longer but, once I told them I'd accepted the new position, they cut me loose so now I have a couple of unpaid weeks to kill while the transition begins.
Rejoice that you have a job because you never know what's going to change with this crazy economy.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.
The syntax from what I remember is very similar, but VB.NET added hooks to much of the .NET architecture that is prevalent throughout microsoft's web page structure as well as hooks into silverlight and office/windows tools.
If Rick is familliar enough with C#.net, he shouldn't have any issues with VB.NET once he has VB down.
I got mind control while I'm here
You goin' hate me when I'm gone
Ain't no blood clot and no fear
I got hope inside of my bones
Rick,
Congrats on the interview. One of the things I like to use when I'm interviewed for a new position in a company that uses a language I'm not familiar with is, something along the lines of,
"I am confident enough in my understanding of computer programming and language structure that I can pick up any computer language in 6 weeks"
That being said, if you feel like you need some VB practice, there are plenty of examples out there on the web, and I'm sure you are familiar with technet.com as a reference.

Rick, PM me if you need any help programming. I have a Commodore 64.
First day was today, loved it
Sat down, they gave me some projects to work on and away it went!
My new job starts Wednesday. It'll be a combination of relief and anxiety.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.
Good luck
