Solid 7 seed bro
Did Portland make it to the playoffs? I havent kept up on anything NBA related.
Russ being exposed as the fraudulent stat chaser petulant child that he is... Trading James Harden was one of the worst moves in the history of the NBA.
Russ is gonna look back and see how petty and lame he was.
Welp. That really sucks.
Lillard's shot was tremendous. But the game was already over. If Lillard misses that shot, they go to overtime, and Westbrook and George both had 5 fouls. No way they make it through the OT period without one or both of them fouling out. The game was lost when they let the Blazers tie it.
So, thank's Dame for saving us that OT period and letting us OKC fans get to bed a little earlier.
While listening the commentators last night i heard that Westbrook and the Thunder's playoff record without Durant is not so good. Shaq was saying they need another top tier player to go along with Russ but have no idea if George is supposed to be that kind of guy.
I'm sympathetic towards RBW. He's been the same guy for years - everyone wants to turn on him now. You can't cheer a guy for padding his rebounds and then boo him for it later. You can't ignore his high usage rates to bloat his assist numbers and then boo him. You can't cheer a guy who shoots worse than college players and then boo him for it later. He's always been a diva. He's the guy who ran off Durant and tanked the franchise for his own ego. So many fans seemed to love him for it.
He is who we thought he were....or was.
They definitely need more help on the roster. Pinning the last 3 years playoff losses on Westbrook is unfair imo. This year was the best supporting cast he's had since Durant bailed and Presti had to switch out parts on the fly, but it's still not good enough, with virtually no bench by season's end. Losing Alex Abrines during the season hurt their already limited bench scoring.
It's been a frustrating few seasons to be a Thunder fan.
I'm defending the man. I'm a Lakers fan. We have an aging star that doesn't know it, whose body is breaking down, two underachieving upstarts, and have become an undesirable FA attraction. That child star who can't shoot...George picked him over us. Think about that.
We're totally ******. You guys just need another shooter.
To actually defend RWB:
It is 2019 and the Thunder have a 2009 roster. Why do I pick that year? Because it was what was leading up to a very good Rondo, two years before Rose's MVP season, etc. etc. Guards who can't shoot. RWB can't shoot, at least consistently. But, to be fair, there are several star players who can't, either. Giannis can't shoot that well, but his cast can. Simmons can't shoot that well, but he has shooters around him. Remember when LBJ didn't have a jumper? Point is, you can have a great star that can't shoot so long as the roster makes up for it.
That roster sucks. Outside of George, who else is even good? Adams? That's not good enough to be a third star on any real contender. And, he can't shoot. George can. That's it. So while RWB does take too many threes, about double as to what he should take, and while he does pad all of his stats, his situation does lend itself to him doing that, at least a bit.
