Brooks is pretty much the NBA's John Fox. Good solid coach, likable guy, but can't win the big one with two of the best players in the NBA.
I was just saying the exact same thing to Beefstew25 the other day via e-mail. No adjustments, no team specific game-planning. Solid coaching, but not enough to beat the best of the best in a 7 game series, primarily because he won't adjust while the other team's coach runs circles around him.

"You guys really don't know s---," Durant told reporters.
Durant's striking statement came in response to a question about continued speculation about Oklahoma City Thunder coach Scott Brooks' job security. Brooks has often fallen under media criticism the past few seasons, but Durant has always been quick to defend his coach, noting during his MVP speech that Brooks doesn't get any credit, "even though you deserve all of it."
Durant was later asked what kinds of questions he'd prefer the media to focus on.
"To be honest, man, I'm only here talking to y'all because I have to," Durant said. "So I really don't care. Y'all not my friends. You're going to write what you want to write. You're going to love us one day and hate us the next. That's a part of it. So I just learn how to deal with y'all."

rest - http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12...ah-jazz-buyoutCenter Kendrick Perkins has committed to signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers after he finalized a buyout with the Utah Jazz on Saturday, a source told ESPN.com.
Perkins was traded to the Jazz on Thursday in a three-team deal that sent guard Reggie Jackson to the Detroit Pistons and Enes Kanter, Steve Novak, Kyle Singler and D.J. Augustin to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He did not appear in a game for Utah.
Perkins was recruited directly by LeBron James to pick the Cavs, according to a source. He also drew heavy interest from the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs. The combination of a chance to win a championship along with an opportunity for playing time pushed Perkins to choose Cleveland.
James welcomed Perkins to Cleveland via Twitter on Saturday.

rest - http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12...-fracture-faceOklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook underwent a successful procedure to address a fracture in the zygomatic arch bone of his right cheek on Saturday, the team announced.
He has been ruled out for Sunday's game at the Los Angeles Lakers and will be re-evaluated this week to determine when he can return to play.
Westbrook suffered the injury with 2.5 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday when teammate Andre Roberson inadvertently kneed him in the face, leaving a visible dent in the side of his face.

http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.c...-were-nowhere/Of course, Morey has long admired Harden, trading for him in 2012. That deal has been revisited countless times with the Thunder grading out poorly in hindsight – despite how reasonable the deal seemed at the time.
But perhaps Oklahoma City deserves criticism for negotiating poorly, given how badly Morey says he wanted Harden.
“We basically told the owner, ‘We should just give them everything. Like, literally, every possible thing that isn’t bolted down with the Rockets should be traded,’” Morey said.
The Thunder’s final haul: Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb and two first-round picks that became Steven Adams and Mitch McGary. (Oklahoma City also included Cole Aldrich, Daequan Cook and Lazar Hayward).
But, in theory, the Thunder could have gotten more. Houston could have added multiple additional first-round picks, at least two and leaving open the possibility of three depending when a pick already owed to the Hawks was conveyed. The Rockets also had Chandler Parsons, Terrence Jones, Marcus Morris, Patrick Patterson and Omer Asik.
Sure, Morey has incentive to play up how much he liked Harden now that Harden has blossomed. But if we take Morey at his word, maybe Oklahoma City could have netted fair return for the MVP candidate with better negotiation.
Now Serge Ibaka needs surgery.
This season is a nightmare.
Meanwhile, Russel Westbrook is super-human.
