I've never spent three consecutive hours watching a soccer match. It was pretty thrilling.

#11 blew the clear, and IMO cost the US Team the game.

At the end of the day I was reminded why I hate womens sports to begin with. They just don't execute at an elite level compared to the men and I find myself constantly critiquing their play. Every time I watch womens sports I end up thinking about how much more entertaining it would be if they weren't falling down all the time, or missing clear openings, or taking off target shots when they should be trying to create a play.

I guess I should have stayed home and watched this game yesterday. Sounds like it was a great contest.

Buff, on women sports, not big on them myself. I think Women's rugby kinda sucks to watch, but there are some sports that I think could be exciting, to me anyway. gymnastics, swimming, figure skating, to name a few. I think these sports capture the grace and beauty that is woman

Agreed on all those sports. I think the key is whether or not I can watch them without thinking "They don't do this 1/2 as well as their male counterparts."

The Japanese clearly have better ball skills.

I think that was the difference in the match.

a sportscaster made a comment that to assume the americans would win this one was a "slap in the face" to the Japanese. I thought that was pretty racist.

    IDK about all that.

Japan channeled the Samarai spirit and kicked the USAs ass...with all the crap that Japan has had over the past few months, at least now they have something to be proud of..

I was prepared to give all the haters in this thread some neg rep but I forget this place is all about giving participation ribbons to all and making sure idiots are allowed to post without impunity.

Soccer, whether it be mens or womens, is the same. As dull as it gets, unless there is some geopolitical significance attached to the game.

way to fight the power. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”
