Default Orton for Mcnabb......would you do it ?

just read a bit about Mcnabb promising to play his butt off next season,
so i was wondering how many bronco fans would like to see a guy like Mcnabb brought in to ........

    a) mentor Tebow

    b) start and give Tebow a little more time to adjust

    c) start and hope the D is good enough to help him bring the team to the..... playoffs ?

and if we had to throw in a player/pick what would you be willing to give up ?

Hmmm . . . throw in a player and/or a pick for McNabb after trading Orton for a
player and/or a pick? That makes no sense to me at all. If it's going to come
down to that, keep the younger player who knows the system in the first place . . .

Well, that's the main thing, MHC: be honest . . .

Remember those stats I threw out there yesterday about passing 1-20 yards?

Yeah, Orton and McNabb were the two worst on that list. No thanks.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

There is no gain. Although you gain a mentor from McNabb, NOTHING will take the place of actually putting him on the field. The kid needs to PLAY, and sitting and watching isn't going to do him more good than actually taking the snaps.

McNabb is done as far as being an effective player. So what would we GAIN by making this trade?

Also, lets get over the pipe-dream of making the playoffs this year. This team is NOT built for the post season.

Why would we go after an inferior QB cry baby who will just whine and complain in the media when we have a guy who keeps a low profile and is better on the field? You think McNabb is going to mentor anyone? I'd even sign Vince Young for mentoring long before I would sign McNabb . Tebow is ready and if he's not, we still have Brady Quinn as insurance.

well....he scrambled like 27 yds for a 1st down in a comeback victory to beat Orton & the broncos the last time i watched him

    I like mcnabb but NO.

Dont need him, dont want him. I am actually sick of hearing about this team and acquiring Quarterbacks. From FA to draft, to trades etc. No more. No more QBs.

We have gone through like 7 in the last 2 years (exaggeration I know) but really we do not need anymore.

Lets stick with TT and k
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

Get used to the QB carousel (as well as coaching carousel). Thats what teams do until they finally find a quality starter.

Ask Buffalo, Miami, Dallas, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, San Diego, Kansas City, NYJ, Minnesota, Tennessee, Indianapolis, and Oakland what its like (and how many QBs you have to go through) once your FQB retires.

Ask Washington, Tampa, AZ, Seattle, Cinci, Detroit, Cleveland, Atlanta .... how long they have been looking for theirs.

Thats why you don't trade away a quality starter once you have him on your roster.

No, that would make no sense. Trade Orton for whatever picks you can get for him then go into the season with Tebow/Quinn, and maybe sign a Delhomme type if you really want a mentor. A mentor is a guy who should be picked up as a FA, not someone you should trade your starting QB for.

If we had a team ready to compete for a playoff spot, then I would take McNabb over Orton in a heartbeat. They aren't in the same league, even at the end of McNabb's career.

For this year, as I am hoping Tebow can win the starting job, it's only if McNabb would be happy in a backup role. I think there is a lot he could teach Tebow, and Orton has already shown he isn't a team player and will not react well if Tebow wins the starting job.

So, it all comes down to whether McNabb would be more professional than Orton in a backup role.
