Not a lot slim but I used it a little. We used aluminum wiring for big stuff like AC's, electric cook tops and ovens...What's going on?
I am buying a house that was built in the '70s. It has aluminum wiring. I have been told that it is a fire hazard and needs to be removed.

Don't listen to them, that is a bunch of Bs. Don't waste your money installing any type of fire alarm system either. the worst that can happen is that there is a pork roast. And how bad is that?

    Are you being serious?

Or do you want my house to burn down?

No offense, but I want your house to burn down with you in it.

Yeah, but to not be in debt is un-American and slim don't roll that way.

I will only be in debt a short time.

I need to renovate the house I am buying and then sell my old house. In the end, it will be a wash.

I think you're fine. I think the main reason they switched to copper was because it's a slightly better conductor. I don't ever remember hearing anything about aluminum being a fire hazard.

Obviously if you do a remodel, I'd switch to copper for the new wiring, but don't go tearing out wiring just to replace it.

Hell, people still have nob and tubing wiring in houses built around the turn of the century and it works great.

Sounds like a ploy from an electrician to make a buck.

    Cool, thanks.

I was plannng on tearing everything out anyway (dry wall, insulation, everything). At the point, rewiring would probably be pretty easy anyway.

Although I hear copper is pretty expensive right now.

It would be easier in that case to re wire but I don't see it as a necessity. If you're going to flip the house most people won't even ask or know the difference. I say leave it unless you find a great deal on wire.

I was pretty skeptical about what I was told.

I mean, the house has been around for 35 years and obvisouly it hasn't burned down. How bad could it really be?

You can fix that. Just plug in a half-dozen or so space heaters . . .

Alright my friend. The shoulder is almost healed, once it is, I plan on getting this scuba thing done!! Shooting for this fall. Is there an age restriction for kids? He wants to do it and my GF as well...

Also, once I complete all the class work and whatnot and come to you for the final 4, is there a timeline in which that needs to be done- between class work and final dives? I am asking because I believe I will have this all done (class stuff) this fall, but I also am forcasting a rather busy fall/winter and hopefully spring. If that is the case I probably wont be able to get down there til perhaps the next summer or fall. Will that be too long? Hopefully, things will be slow enough I can get down there for 5 days or so. But its hard to coordinate my gf schedule and my sons school and then me getting away.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
