Holy fuk episode 8 is on another level. They have all been good, but this is the real deal. I bet IMDB gives it love compared to the other episodes.

It's the prisoner extract with the new West Point kid and Webster.

If you haven't, you should read the book. They did a great job with that show.

I bet it's good. I might check it out. I liked his railroad book.

I know some academics or something threw a lot of shade on Ambrose for shoddy research or something like that.

    Ragnorak. Excellent excellent show. 9/10
Filmed in Norway so either subtitles or dubbed in like old kung fu movies. Still an excellent watch. Plus its incredibly beautiful over there.

You definitely should. Any shows or movies like that are phenomenal and help memorialize some of the greatest men to ever call themselves Americans. Also watch Hacksaw Ridge if you haven't already.

I watched that show when it came on originally and I was too young to fully appreciate it. As I've gotten older and learned more about military history, I've really learned how to appreciate those stories and the impact that they've had. Jocko's podcast also deserves credit for that. I've learned a lot from that show.

Yes, and now it's been so long that I don't remember the specifics.

At the time, I recall feeling like the academics were arguing about angels on heads of pins. Like, they kind of had a point, but overall they had missed the boat.

I haven't watched them since they first came out. After reading the last couple pages, I think I'm going to watch them again.

It seems like anything historical that Tom Hanks has a part of, especially those he created/produced/directed, work really hard to honor that history -- especially with the reverence he plays to WWII vets and history.
