The first season of True Detective is neck and neck with Breaking Bad for the title of greatest television show of all time. It is flawless.

Sons is really good until about season 4 and then it just becomes a repetitive joke on itself. Just picture the last 4 seasons as a repetitive copy of the first 3 and you can stop after Ireland. They just keep rehashing the same old problems with the same old people... it's tiresome

I was pretty impressed with the first episode of this season. Have you seen it?

The first 4 maybe were as good as it gets. Then it kind of fizzled, IMO. McCognaughey's and Harrelson's acting sold it more than the story did. Still overall good, but the ending felt meh to me.

This season I am just looking at a brand new show. Won't judge it against the first because McC and Harrelson's chemistry and acting just killed it. So far it is an interesting cop show, nothing more. Nothing really compelling, but not bad. Still letting things develop before making a judgment. Didn't see the ending coming of the last episode.

Agree and surprised by the comments above.

Breaking Bad probably all time best show I've seen just because they inexplicably kept the quality throughout which is miraculous. Loved the Wire, Sopranos, and others but all were spotty in places except BB.

But first True Detective - just loved it. Fits in with Band Of Brothers and a few other short runners that were all-time greats.

I liked it too, but I don't know that I liked it more than The Wire or Sopranos. Or even Deadwood. Effing Al Swearengen.

True detective Season 2 is great. I think its close to the first season.

Not the evil physco maniac killer in the woods, but still the storytelling is great.

    Colin Farrell is a badass.
