There's some dark comedy, but I'd guess you'd label it drama. I hesitate to label some of it social commentary, but it's about a poorer part of Atlanta. It's about a guy who went to Princeton but either dropped out or was kicked out (first two episodes don't tell you), who moves back to a poorer part of Atlanta where he is from. His cousin is trying to make it in the rap business and he offers to manage him. Then they are involved in a shooting, but so far they leave it a mystery as to what actually happened. They're arrested for weed possession and taken to lock up, but neither is charged in the shooting in the second episode. That's the first two episodes in a nut shell.

I liked it. 30 minute episodes and Fx put two out on its first night. Not sure if they plan on doing that each Tuesday or not.

Yeah it is. The guy who plays Pablo does a great job. Actually, everything is done well in that series.

He's Brazilian. Had to learn Spanish to play the part. I need to revisit that show. I watched four or five episodes and didn't go back for some reason.

Well, it's not like I'm a stewardess or anything, but I do have a life.

El Patron del Mal is a Columbian made series, much more detailed than Narcos. I don't know if it's available on the US netflix library but if it is you should check it out. Much more authentic, real Columbian actors and accents/slang. It was great.

I tried watching it (really wanted to), but reading subtitles just takes too much of the experience away

How on earth does reading take away from the experience? You've really been letting me down, Al. I want you to be my brother, but you keep shitting the bed. You're a great man; you should act like it.

I love taking in the entire scene. When I have to look away from the actors and the setting it takes away from the experience for me. Besides, too much is lost in translation with subtitles.

And another thing, people think watching French movies is some kind of cool cultural experience, but it's not. It just means you hate dogs

You can't do both? Al...I'm officially message board bro breaking up with you. We had a good run, but I'm sick of you letting me down.

You didn't have to read like 75% of Narcos subtitles? Most of it was in Spanish wasn't it?
