I've never watched a single episode of The Sopranos.
Suits season 6 premier tonight. I'm pumped!
I've been watching Longmire lately. I like it a lot more then I thought I would. Some of the shots with the Wyoming landscape are pretty cool.
They also do a good job of presenting racial tensions in the county between Indians and honkys.

Intentional Talk.
Best show on TV.
The convention.
Now that I’m done with my Autism presentation and video, I can take the time to properly respond to your latest response. In order to make sure you & I don’t get in trouble for having a P/R debate outside of P/R, please go to the following thread to see my response to your last post.

As far as your assessment that the show Longmire shows there to be tension between the Native Americans & the Whiteman, I’d contend that there were 4 points of conflict that had little to do with race.
1) Longmire had the police chief prior to episode 1, causing Officer Mathias to resent Longmire. Mathias never shows any hostility towards the other deputies, all of whom are white, only towards Longmire. By the end of episode 1, Mathias restrains his hostility enough so the 2 can work together when various situations call for it.
2) During episode 1, Longmire is trying to track down a “rolling brothel” which forces underage girls into prostitution. When he’s told to “talk to the Indian at the Red Pony,” which he assumed meant his longtime friend who was the owner of that bar, he confronts him. This offended his friend leading to a rift that gets worked out when he figures out that the Indian in question was one of the employees. In short, this had nothing to do with ethnicity, but that 1 friend was accusing another friend of committing a reprehensible crime.
3) Prior to episode 1, Longmire’s wife had been murdered & he was convinced that the owner of the new casino (Jacob Nighthorse) that was being built had it done because of her opposition to the casino. This resulted in constant antagonism between the two, not for ethnic reasons, but because Longmire was convince of Nighthorse’s guild and was determined to prove it. I don’t know if you’ve watched all of the Netflix episodes, but I have so I know whether or not he was right. When Longmire was running for reelection against 1 of his deputies, who was white, Nighthorse gave the deputy donations and his public endorsement.
4) Science isn’t my strong suit, but its not the strong suit of most writers in Hollywood anyways. Its my understanding that there was a problem with fracking causing gas to seep into the water pipes on the Reservation, resulting in 1 house exploding. This wasn’t a race issue, it was an environmental & public safety issue.
So just because 2 people of different races have a dispute, that doesn’t automatically make it a race issue.

You and I are not really in the same hemisphere here. I don't dispute anything you said; nor does that mean the show is completely void of any racial tension.
I've watched every episode of all 4 seasons and I love the show, and I am very much looking forward to season 5.
